The Birth Center offers an alternative to hospital birth. Midwives manage the prenatal care, the birth, and post-natal care. The midwives take a lot of time with the mothers-to-be during each appointment. It's a big change from doctors who can only spend a few minutes on each appointment. The birth itself is a special event. The mother can choose any or all family members to be present or nearby during the birth. The center is a block from a hospital, just in case of emergency.
