We took a mini-vacation downtown to explore our own city and tried Hotel Monaco since they accept dogs. They not only accept dogs, they LOVE dogs! There was a welcome sign with both of our dog's names at check-in and biscuits to welcome them. The staff was great and always said "Hi" to them as we went in & out of the hotel. The rooms are decorated an upbeat, playful decor and the leopard print robes are just plain fun! There is a fee for parking. I don't know if you have in & out privileges with your car, because once we parked our car we easily walked everywhere. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy. I'd definitely go back and I'm looking forward to trying other Hotel Monacos across the country. For food, try at least one meal or dessert at Sazerzc in the hotel. Their food was great.

This quaint little cafe is a favorite spot of ours when we want to escape the hustle & bustle of life. They serve an outstanding continental breakfast. I often have a chocolate croissant, yogurt and cafe au lait. My husband loves their baguette with house made jam (different each time), dried sausage, and cafe au lait. On summer weekends get there early in the morning (before 9) for a table. A few outdoor tables are available in summer. Metered street parking is available around the area.

They use high quality ingredients and have some the best food in the area. The dishes are meticulously prepared and the service is top notch. Dress is business casual and it is a comfortable environment. Be sure to make reservations for Fri & Sat evenings. Save room for the chocolate mousse, it's incredible. It's a little spendy, but well worth it.

This store has a great selection of toys, treats & supplies for dogs. They do a good job of bringing in the latest, fun toys so I always have something new to pick up. (Cats too, but I don't have a kitty.) The people are always friendly and helpful. My dogs know when I pull in the parking lot and can't wait to go in & visit!!

This is a great place for pastries & coffee for breakfast. (We usually can't resist taking something home for dessert!) They use high quality ingredients and everything tastes so good it's hard to pick just one. They also have a nice little lunch special of 3 or 4 sandwiches to choose from with the option of getting a cake slice to go with it. There are tables inside and outside so you can either eat there or take your food with you. In warmer weather we love to sit outside in the morning.
