I had an absolutely wonderful experience here. From the moment we walked in on a chilly evening and were greeted with a sifter of warm numminess to the last sip of wine, I felt spoiled. I think the key to enjoying Elemental is to give yourself over to Phred and Laurie. They know what they are doing and you will be in good hands. I loved the simplicity of the decor, using a maglight to view the menu and the lovely way every course was paired with a delicious glass of wine. Truly special!

The Yarn Gallery is a great knitting store! The staff is so helpful and friendly. If you are stuck on a project and drop by they will sit with you and walk you through with grace. They have a great selection of resonably priced yarn and the store is also very comfortable. I buy most of my yarn here. Even if you don't live in West Seattle it is worth the trip!

This place is a bit hard to find, but don't give up, it is absolutely worth turning around. We started out with Tamarind Tree rolls which were absolutely wonderful, they have great texture and they are vegetarian! I have only been here once, but am putting on my list of places to frequent. I had and lemon grass tofu over noodles, the dish was fresh, perfect and delicious. The staff is friendly, the environment is comfortable and well-designed, and I can't wait to go back! I think this is a great place to take a date!

I love this place! Maybe because it is in my hoody. They have full service shipping and mailing, including mailboxes. They also sell great cards and creative gifts. And that's not all, they have computers you can use and best of all they make a mean Soy Latte! All this and a friendly staff that remembers your name. I'm happy they are my neighbors!

At first I really liked Tricoter, but now I have changed my mind. I took a class and during that time I was treated very well and loved the helpful staff. Now, I just feel as though every time I walk in there the staff is curt and not very helpful. Also, I have realized that they are way over priced compared to other knitting shops in the city. I am taking my business somewhere else.

Okay, I admit this isn't the best sushi in town, nor is the ambience anything to write home about, but it is a fun environment and the sushi is above average and affordable so I have three suggestions:
1) Chef's special; order your rice on the side and four people will have a great selection of sashimi and eat very well for $30!
2) Decadence roll, a yummy taste explosion. Seriously, try it, you will not be disappointed!
3) Oh and a bonus, since I am a self proclaimed Bloody Mary connoisseur, try the wasabi bloody, yum yum yum!

The Celtic Swell is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a beer. The Swell also has a pretty good menu for Sunday brunch and every day of the week. I especially like the curry potato and french fries. I also suggest a bloody mary, if you aren't vegetarian, since their mix has anchovies in it. The Swell brings a nice change to Alki, it is comfortable, family friendly and clean.
The Swell seemed to loose a lot of business in winter, they trimmed down their menu. I hope they are now on the upswing.
They have a trivia night also, for me it was impossible. Not sure if it is Tuesdays or Wednesdays you'll have to call.

From the moment we got there we had wonderful service. The bartender suggested great wines to suit our tastes and the server was friendly and good-humored. Our dinner was perfect, we each had a salad and shared the curry mussels and antipasti. The salad and mussels were great, but the antipasti was fantastic. A medley of roasted garlic, peppers, mushrooms and eggplant; along with olives, pickled beets and bread. Yummy, I am definately going back for that and the wine. And I want to try some of their drink special especially the Ginger Drop.
We ate a light dinner so my review price is based on that.
