The noise from the hairdressers downstairs was a huge distraction from the relaxation promised by the services in the day spa upstairs. The employee break room was next door to the area one rests in between spa services with a cup of tea. I tried to relax while listening to the gossip and heavy clomping up the stairs by employees on their way to and from the break room. I wrote to the owner about my experience and never received an acknowlegement or appology.
Perhaps I can spare you from spending your hard earned money on a spa that is less than relaxing.

You can watch the bakers, and they can watch you! Good place for people watching, dog watching and reading the newspaper.

Pho at Than Brothers is a welcome addition to the Ballard budget dining option. The soup is delicious and filling. The ingredients are fresh. The bonus cream puff dessert will guarantee you will return again - great marketing. Service is swift and the restaurant is clean and bright.
The thing the other reviewers fail to mention is that the Market store plays lovely soothing music to make dining a pleasant experience. Sometimes it is classical and other times it is Vietnamese popular music, but never anything jarring or dissonant. I also enjoy the people watching out the large windows.

I used to take 3 buses to get a Cupcake Royale treat until they opened their new world headquarters right in my back yard! Try the new fall flavors. You can't go wrong, and if you are watching your calories, they have baby cakes - perfect mini sized morsels. Don't deny yourself.
