Are you a woman like me who loves pink? This is the store for you! Everything in this store is pink. They sell every item in the Lilly Pulitzer line. The store carries girls and women's clothing with the clothing on the first floor and swimwear, tennis and golf clothes on the second floor. They don't just sell pink though, there's alot of aquas, lime green and white too, mixed with some neutrals like black and khacki. Polo shirts and shift dresses are rampant. This is a prepster's heaven and very appropriate for downtown Birmingham.

A week later you pick it up and you have a new treasure to give as a gift or keep for yourself. This is a fun thing to do with your date, with your girlfriends or take the kids. Its also a fun birthday party for pre-teens or teens and not "too lame" for that age group. There is a huge variety of pottery to pick from: cups, plates, vases, plaques, etc the list goes on. The staff has great advice and will guide the novice with ideas and how tos. Fun for everyone!

Year round the Farmer's market has something you need: veggies and fruits, plants and flowers, pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc. There is also a flea market where you can find hidden treasures, antiques, local artisans peddling their wares. This is fun even if you don't buy. When you're done walk into downtown Royal Oak and grab some lunch or continue your "window shopping". One of the best things about living in this area!

This is an old-fashioned toy store, quite a different experience than going to the local Toys R Us. They have the most spectacular dolls that I've ever seen. They also have a huge selection of Thomas the Train toys, including many items that you won't find anywhere else. If you need a gift or are looking for a special toy you will find it here. If you're shopping with your kids they have an amazing play area, and let me tell you that it won't be easy to get your kids out of this store. They also carry those large outdoor playsets and can arrange installation for you. They can also perform amazing repairs and restoration on old dolls. This store is something to see!

My mom shopped at Connie's when my brother and I were kids, and now I shop there for my girls. They offer brand name, special items although their prices do reflect this. I will purchase brand name and boutique items for my children and they will wear them and because they are such good quality I can resell them when we're done and break even. Connie's also offers nice shoes and they do go on sale quite a bit. This is also a nice place if you need a special baby gift or christening or communion dresses.

This store has the cutest baby and kid's clothes. They do offer higher end boutique clothing and the prices do reflect this. If you need an outfit for a special occasion or just want your child to stand out you can't go wrong at this store. The items are unique and beautifully made. The staff is professional and helpful. You get the type of service that you don't normally receive from chain stores. Prepare to spend quite a bit although if you can catch a sale you can get some good deals on clothes that will last forever. You get what you pay for.

This florist has great displays outside, I can't drive past without wanting to go in. During the fall they have hay and Halloween decorations outside. They also offer beautiful and unique arrangements. They are close to Beaumont Hospital too if you need to send an arrangement to someone in the hospital. I received an arrangement from Dynamic when I had my first baby and I have been sold on this flower shop ever since. They also have reasonable prices and friendly service. I highly recommend them.

This is a great place to shop when you need a gift and have no idea what to get. They have lots of selection for $20 and under and its hard to walk out of there without buying something. The store is divided up into tiny rooms such as the bathroom, babies room, bedroom ,etc. They also offer things from local artisans which makes for an eclectic and funky selection of items. Check out the store at Christmas too when they have lots of whimsical holiday decorations.

Everything at Zingerman's is awesome. They offer homemade bread with all natural ingredients. They even offer a guarantee, if you don't like it they'll give you your money back. They also offer all kinds of sweets, croissants, pies, cakes, brownies. You can watch the bakers making the bread through the window. I've also seen them make beautiful wedding cakes. Also check out their delicatessan for delicious soups and sandwiches. Zingerman's is an Ann Arbor staple.

This awesome candy maker offers free factory tours but advance registration is required for a group guided tour. But, you can do a self-guided walking tour any time from 9-3 Monday through Friday. They have a 70 foot glass observation hallway where you can see the candy makers at work (think Lucy and Ethel) Best of all they have FREE samples! Be sure to check out the candy shop, they offer all kinds of hand made specialties. I especially like their Pecan Turtles. This is a fun trip for scouts or school trips.
