One of a few places for a lunchtime meal in the area 8/5/2005

Oakland Taqueria is a small, dark and dank hole-in-the wall on 11th Street in Oakland (in between Oak and Madison Streets.) The taqueria offers food commonly found in any other taqueria: enchiladas, burritos, tacos, etc. The prices are low-end...$4-7 per entree. Many of the taqueria's customers are county workers who work at either the courthouse or the county administration buildings on Oak Street. These workers do not have a lot of other choices. Most of Downtown Oakland's workforce is located near Oakland City Center or near the Kaiser Center. This part of downtown is vanilla and does not have a lot of eating establishments. Oakland Taqueria is nothing to drive out for. If you are in the area it may be good. However thats about it. The food is okay and the prices are cheap, but it isn't a special place. more
