I think this is such a great idea if you have daughters or grand daughters. My sister -in -law's family gives my niece one inch of real pearls every year for her birthday from birth to age sixteen. That way, at age 16, she has a full string of pearls. St. Charles can sell you pearls by the inch and they know how to string them properly. They also have other fine jewelry and are located across from Bowman Field.
