my acs experience 3/22/2012

I used to tell people who want to work at ACS not to work there, as I would not recommend it. Now I advise them to try it out, go to the orientation, do the training, and if you are still interested, by all means, go for it. However, I would strongly suggest that even if you make it to the floor, please keep looking for a job. Just because you make it to the floor doesn't mean you will survive and be there forever. You have to be on your toes all the time, because as some of my previous posters commented, you could, can, and will be fired at any time for any reason. In fact when I was there, we had a couple of people that were fired in Training Bay, in my training class, there was a guy who was rehired (what? huh?) at ACS, and of course there were the people who either quit or were fired right after making it to the floor. I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did. As far as salary goes, when I was there, I started out at $8.50 an hour and after three months, I got a whopping 25 cents raise, and it went up 25 cents every three months after that. The last I heard, the starting salary was about $11.00 an hour. You can make extra money for selling phone plans, mobile to mobile, etc., however, when you got your paycheck, the money was not there. You know why? Because the sups had it in their paychecks. You made the money and they take it away from you. It's like they took the call and resolved the customer's issue. If you have a customer with a complex problem that you have to research, do it as fast as you can, as the sups are listening to your phone conversations and if it takes you a long time to get your answer and get back to the caller, after your call is over, the sup pulls you over to discuss the call and they will ask you why it took you so long to resolve the issue. When you set your schedule, please be sure to keep it, as you are pointed for every minute you arrive late or leave early for any reason. This is just my brief summary of my ACS experience, I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift. more
