Bergmann’s rug pickup for us was scheduled for 6am. No show, even though it’s a nice day and we’re only about five miles away. Called them at 8:45am; driver was on some other runs, would be here 1030 or 1100. No apologies or even minimal concern. Pickup man finally arrived at 2:04pm – eight hours late. Again without explanation or regrets. Seemed to think I should have tape on hand for him so he could roll and tape the rugs. Things happen, but Bergmann’s failure to call me to give me a heads-up about a significant delay, and offer a different day or time, is inexcusable in what should be a customer-oriented service corporation, not even considering their extreme degree of unconcern and ho-hum-ness. more

This cleaner used to be located right near where I lived. I used to go here all the time. I’ve never had a bad experience. There are cheaper places in the area but the price difference isn’t significant. This place was so close to me it was hard to go anywhere else. Plus I really had a need to since the work here was always completed professionally. more

Bergmann’s Cleaner is a very larger dry cleaning store on Lee Highway in Arlington. This place is huge but I have never had any problems with my orders being lost or delayed. They have done a great job cleaning and pressing my dress shirts and dress pants. The prices are similar to most other dry cleaning stores in the area. more

Bergmann's cleaned my custom-made dress and damaged the silk organza fabric in the back, causing it to pucker. In addition, the silk organza is now deeply ridged instead of being pressed flat as it was when I brought the dress to Bergmann's. They charged me $39.80 to clean the dress because the buttons had to be removed and reattached. Bergmann's had a textile lab do an analysis of the dress and attributed the damage to normal wear and tear (even though it was worn only once and cleaned once by Bergmann's), the character of the fabric, and the manufacturer. They refuse to accept responsibility for the damage. I'd gone out of my way to use Bergmann's because I had heard good things about them. It was frustrating dealing with their staff, who could not find the dress or a record of it for a week, though they'd given me a receipt and reference number. When I finally spoke to Mr. Jeff Bergmann about the damage, he would not even look at the lab report. Bergmann's will not refund my $39.80, make amends for the damage, or press the dress so it looks like it was made to look. I will never use their service again, and I would never recommend them to anyone. more
