We were referred to Dr. Aka by my kid's pediatrician 2 years. It worked great until last fall. We went to see Dr. Aka last October for a routine cleaning. After he took my kid's first X-ray, he told us a shocking news. He said that my daughter had 8 cavities on all her molars. I was so shocked. We have started to brush our kid's teeth since she was 6 months old, even she was without any teeth at that time and started to floss her teeth 2 years ago. I did not suspect anything at that time although he did not show us the X-ray. he suggested us to schedule a surgery for our kid, which included 2-hour general anesthesia. We went back to his office took another X-ray in December and he still insisted his diagnose.
It was 2 weeks before my kid's surgery, I got chance talking to one of our friends. She told me that her daughter's dentist is also Dr. Aka and he recommended 4 crown and 4 fills on her daughter's teeth. It was when I became really suspicious. I immediately called my dentist and brought my kid to his office for a second opinion. The results were both relieving and outrageous. my dentist did not find any cavity on any of my daughter's molar!! A couple of days later, the results of second opinion for my friend's daughter also came. Her daughter only need a couple fillings, that's it. Another my friends talked about our experience during their bible study. What she told me is we were not the first victim of Dr. Aka.
