I hired Hansen Bros. in the Seattle area to move my belongings to Michigan in July, 2010. They were great and I had no problem with them. Unforturnately, the driver's truck got stuck halfway thru the drive to MI and could not be repaired. My belongings were loaded on a rescue truck and moved to the warehouse at Morse Moving in Romulus.
Beverly McClurg weighted the truck and gave me a "binding" amount on moving my load from the warehouse to my MI residence, I was then overcharged by 50%, due to a fake weight ticket emailed to me by Beverly. Not the weight of the truck! The weight included my automobile, which was not at Morse's warehouse, nor moved by them. I was refunded the disputed amount after emailing the weight ticket and written amount to mulitple employees at Morse.
I then hired Morse to for a local move from Livonia to Farmington Hills in MI. The 3 employees who arrived to pack, load, transport and unload were all teenagers and very rude. They proceeded to flip my recently purchased mattress over a balcony railing, resulting in a sizable rip on the bottom and dirty handprints. I emailed Morse a picture of the damage and copy of the bill of sale on 10/10/2011. Stacey Finley emailed me a damage claim form and asked me to submit it to her.
The claim was refused based on a 10 day time limit. I was never informed of the time limit, although Morse had ample opportunity to do so. Why ask me to submit a claim that will never be evaluated?
Also. the day of the move, I walked into my spare bedroom and found my safe open with the door removed. I took a picture of it and had the door put back on. I later thought back on this and remembered that I put some expensive jewelry in the safe the night before the move. I probably forgot to spin the dial after closing the safe and throwing the lever, allowing the Morse movers access to my safe. I emailed the picture to Morse with no response.
Now that I am aware of Morse employees' dishonesty, I will inspect my safe contents more completely. The jewelry is appraised and insured, so anything missing will be covered by insurance. Thank goodness I took that picture (date/time stamp on the day of the move, while the movers were in my residence). If I find anything missing, I will file a report with the Livonia Police and prosecute. Upon seeing the safe open like that, I regret that I did not call the police immediately and have the Morse employees removed from my residence on the spot.
There are many, many movers in the tri-county area of Michigan. Don't hire Morse.

My move went great! I have never hired movers before, but since I have moved so many times I figured I'd give my friends and family a break! I had Daniel and Manny and they were awesome! They were professional, efficient and super nice! They took great care in wrapping my things so they would be safely moved. I definitely recommend this company to anyone I know who is moving and I will use you again for my next move. Hopefully it will be awhile!

We strongly recommend Morse Moving and Storage. They recently handled our move from Dearborn to Pentwater, MI flawlessly. Their crew demonstrated a unique blend of brute strength, patience in dealing with two frazzled homeowners, gentle care in handling breakable/fragile items and irreplaceable family heirlooms, sense of humor and stamina on a particularly bad weather day. Their follow through was terrific. I can't say enough about how terrific they were, and I have moved 6 times over the past 42 years.

I used Morse moving and the drivers were very nice, but they damaged furniture. I paid extra to have full coverage. Not all of the furniture was wrapped before they moved it out of my house. The furniture repair man came by and said he did not receive approval for all of the damages. I was never told this in advance. The driver agreed to the damages on the day of the move, but then he added to the receipt that he denied some of the damages. Needless to say, I was very upset and will end up paying for the damages on my own. My friend used Two Men and a Truck and were given great service. Nothing of his furniture was damaged.

I was very pleased with my moving experience! From start to finish, things were done correctly, and I understood the process every step of the way.
Special thanks to Kristie for making payment through my company an easy process.
Big, big thanks to Sherry, who packed my kitchen in several hours (and it’s taken me several days to unpack!). Apparently my “number of dishes” to “size of kitchen” ratio is disproportionate, and her help was invaluable!
Jake and Chuck – you guys were awesome! From packing my whole basement and carting a sofabed up the stairs, to delaying my dropoff time a couple of hours to meet MY needs and unloading in such a way that I could unpack some of the boxes to reload onto your truck, you made the process as simple as it could be.
I look forward to recommending you to others!

This was a long distance move, from Ann Arbor MI to Houston TX.
The first thing that happened was that the moving representative Mike Engelhardt misquoted the amount that it would cost to have my things packed. I did not find out about the correct rate (about $300 more than agreed on) until after I made the agreement to go with their company.
Next, I was charged a fee that I was not informed of; I specifically asked if this fee (for delivery to a storage unit) would apply, and I was told "no." This was cleared up, but I was starting to worry that my move would not go smoothly.
The next thing that happened was regarding the delivery of my items. The window of delivery dates that I was given were June 30 to July 3. Since I had not heard from anyone by the afternoon of July 2, I called my move coordinator Beverly McCuaig on that afternoon to find out when my items would arrive. When I finally got a hold of her, she had no idea where my shipment was and did not even know if they had left Michigan. She said she would find out and call me back. I did not hear from her for a few hours, and so I called Mike to find out what was going on; he was very short with me and told me that I should be talking to the move coordinator. When I told him that she had not called me back, he gave me her direct line. I left a message for her, and finally heard from her a few hours after that. Apparently my items did not make it onto the truck and she had no idea when they would be delivered.
I called the customer service at Allied and again was met with rudeness. The representative (Tom) I talked to basically told me that they were under no obligation to deliver my items within a certain time frame and the only thing he had to guarantee was that items would be delivered. After much prodding on my part, he finally looked up who would be available to pick up my shipment and gave me an estimate as to when my things would leave.
A few items were damaged in shipment and the claim form I was given had the wrong address, so a few weeks after mailing the form, it was returned to me. I did finally get my claim in and received a check today for the amount claimed.
I did finally got my shipment, though I wish I had followed my initial instincts and hired someone else.
Pros: I finally got my things delivered
Cons: AWFUL communication
