Stacks' has some nice attributes -- pitchers of water automatically on the table when you get there ; if one person orders iced tea they get a pitcher (and the kids were able to share), but is in no way worth the huge lines on the weekends. We used to go about 5 years ago when my DH worked nearby and I was always unimpressed. Their food struck me as bland. A friend suggested we try it again and I was game. After all, I didn't hate it before, it was just okay. It is still just okay. They have one nice kids meal -- grilled cheese and fruit. The rest weren't that exciting. I had a hamburger which was fine. It comes with "salad", fruit and hash browns. The hash browns were okay but I could have lived without them. The fruit was very small. All in all, an okay experience. I've had better, I've had worse. more

average breakfast 4/3/2006

for some reason I always have had a better experience at the Menlo Park Stacks. they do have some good options for breakfast, like their breakfast burritos, but they are nothing special and the prices are pretty high. I have had to wait in line a couple times and probably won't again, there are better places to eat, or at least places that are about the same, that aren't as expensive. they are always busy, though, so I guess lots of people do like them!! more

Stacks has so much more on the menu than the normal brunch options. The portions are exceptional, and my favorite is the fruit crepe. I went here almost weekly for a year before I ventured on to the lunch menu and discovered that there are a ton of amazing and amazingly huge salads. The place gets busy, especially on the weekend, but they let you wait outside and have coffee there to sip on. They also opened a Stacks in Menlo Park a couple years ago, but I'm still a fan of the original. more

Just OK. 9/13/2005

In the last year or so, Stacks in RWC took an abrupt dive in service and quality. With breakfast, the little things matter: your pancakes being delivered without syrup, having to hunt down cream for your coffee yourself, and so on. The old Stacks always got the details right and when something went wrong, it was promptly and cheerfully corrected. The last time we visited Stacks RWC the meal was a mess. All the familiar faces (host, cashier, waiters) were gone. We were later told that a management change had taken place. more
