Well above average 10/29/2008

We bought our 2005 Prius here. The service has been excellent. Often, they have serviced the car in less than an hour, while I waited. For longer service, the movie theater is a block away. I recommend an afternoon show. The car is always freshly washed when I pick it up, and the service items of concern are checked. My only complaint is that the parts department has not had the parts I wanted (touch up paint, etc.) in stock, and I had to return. more

Please, please don't go here 5/6/2007

I went to this place shopping for a 2007 Prius. I’d done a lot of research beforehand, but still was very put-off by the condescending attitude of the salesperson I had to deal with. Maybe that should have been a warning sign, but omens be damned, I wanted that Prius, even if it meant putting up with a jerk in a tie and short sleeves for a few hours. After some quite tedious back and forth over the price, we did finally settled on a price that was agreeable. Or so I thought. When it was time to deal with the finance manager and sign the contract, I was incensed to find that they were trying to sneak in a much higher interest rate than the one they’d already promised. Look, I get how this sort of thing works. If you’re not paying attention, unscrupulous salespeople will milk that for all its worth. I suppose what I found most infuriating was the self-righteous tone they took when I called them on it. The sleazy general manager began shouting at me, and arguing that I was the one at fault! I really don’t know how else to characterize the people I had to deal with, other than as unprofessional, and downright immoral. I hope that if you do decide to shop here, you’ll be very, very careful, and that you have a thick-skin when it comes to people generally insulting your intelligence with games and low-balling tactics. In general, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and don’t want to leave bad reviews over every little minor annoyance. But in this instance, I really feel morally obligated to share my very poor experience with everyone else. If I hadn’t been paying attention the entire time, the general manager of this dealership would have happily jobbed me out of a few extra thousand bucks. In short, if you want to be treated like an idiot and don’t mind being ripped off, by all means, give this place a shot. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Fremont Toyota, where there was a refreshing lack of sleaziness and I was able to get a better deal in half the time I wasted at this place. more

My friend bought a reliable pre-owned car here 1/13/2006

My neighbor got her two year old Toyota here under the factory warranty, and it's been running like a charm. She saved a lot of money buying pre-owned, and she was also able to negotiate a cash payment to reduce the total costs and save even more. The car was fully inspected by Toyota, and factory refurbished. The sales people didn't put a lot of pressure on her, and she was free to roam the lot until she had specific questions about a specific car. This is a good way to be treated! more

Not very user friendly 7/1/2005

I had to go to this dealership with my car. THere's a long wait to get attended to. Then I waited for 30 mins for a shuttle to drop me off to my work. They told me I should know a diagnosis by 1 pm. They called back 1.5 hrs later. eventually fixed the car but said the shuttle could pick me up earliest 1.5 hrs from then. Overall, experience was not very user friendly as there's a wait for eveything, although they fixed my car. more
