Sorry that your estimate was a lot higher than what you would have liked. To be honest with you, even though I've been in the auto repair business for over 30 years I'm STILL suprised at how expensive some repair procedures can be! When I operated my Chevron service station in downtown Pullman many years ago I remember installing alternators for $35. Today, parts and labor for installing an alternator on some makes and models can cost 10 times that amount! Sometimes our estimates are the lowest around and sometimes they are more than "the other guy" but we DO strive to provide Honest Estimates that include all foreseen parts AND labor costs. Although you can often find parts on your own that cost less please keep in mind that professional brands are higher quality, perform better, and come with a parts warranty AND a labor warranty! Our warranty is for three years and can save you a lot of trouble and heartache!
Sincerely,
Jerry

I worked here my senior year in college at WSU and not only are the owners and all the staff, some of whom are relatives, wonderful, the food is the best. I have tried nearly everything on the menu, and although I am a bit picky, there is hardly anything I don't like. There's food for every taste, whether you are looking for sweet, spicy, fresh and greasy. The prices are also very reasonable, with lunch plates offered all day.
I ate food from New Garden almost every day and I never got tired of it. I love their potstickers, orange beef, Peiking porkchop and hot & sour soup (made my way!). It was one of my most favorite jobs because the people and food were so great. They still welcome me as if I were family every time I go back.
If you're in town, you have to try this!
Pros: Great food, fast service, great staff
Cons: Gets very busy during event weekends (i.e. mom's weekend)

We have dealt with Chipman and Taylor for several years and every purchase we made was extremely easy. Believe it or not, there is no pressure as there is with most car dealers. The salesmen are quiet and knowledgable and will find the car you want if they do not have it on their lot. Their service is supreme.

I just had the carpet in my house replaced by Saunders and they did an excellent job. For once a contracter started on time and finished early. The best about Saunders is their proffesionalism, the owner is great to deal with and listens to your concerns and makes sure they are taken care of. I think this place is world class.

Sella's is the typical dining restaurant for the college aged student! They offer great food, baked to perfection! They let you draw on the table covers and menus and post all artwork out on display. Their pizza and calzones are to die for and they are great Cougar fans making for a fun environment right below campus!
PROS: Great tasting calzones!

Whenever we visit my son at WSU we always stop at the Crimson and Gray for something. Whether it is shirts, shorts, or something else. They carry a wide selection of WSU Cougar merchandise and the prices are fairly reasonable.

As a long-time resident of Pullman (20 plus years), I've seen a number of restaurants come and go. Swilly's alone steadfastly remains and has consistently served delicious meals made with fresh, delicious ingredients and prompt, courteous, attentive service from all staff members. My current favorite is the pork medallions with vanilla fig sauce, served with sauteed baby bok choy over garlic mashed potatoes. MMmmm ! My only wish is a more frequent change in menu (however, I do not approve of the removal of the great pasta salads that were served ! Bring those back !)
In fact, one of their up and coming young chefs, Connor, is headed to the prestigious Culinary Institute of America ! (A future Food Network star ? Maybe !)
Every restaurant from Pullman to Lewiston is swamped during football weekends and big event weekends in Pullman, so do like the locals do, and avoid restaurants during that time. If that is not feasible, go very early or expect a long wait.

One reason I love returning to Pullman after a break at home is to order a pizza from Pizza Perfection. Their deals are unbeatable - free delivery OR get one free when you pick it up yourself. The pizza is always good when you take that first bite, well worth the short drive into downtown.
Not to mention they close at 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays and at 1 am on every other day, so late night studying can be accompanied by a hot pizza.
Parking can be an issue if you're not driving down there at midnight, since it's on Pullman's Main street, usually packed on both sides with parked cars. Otherwise, it's a great place with great food.
