Copperfields is a local bookstore with a few locations around here. They have a nice selection and the service is generally friendly and helpful. The books here are a bit more expensive than a Borders or Waldens, but the atmosphere is nice and they have a little section with books on Sonoma County's history.
This location has a display of handmade leather journal covers that are beautiful! I believe the designer of these books is local, but I've only seen them sold here at Copperfields. If you're looking for a gift for a journaler check these out.
