I wanted to thank you and your team for all your hard work on the cake I ordered for my wedding. It was beautiful and added to the decor. It was so tasty that I now wished I ordered more than 300 servings because people complained that we ran out. AMAZING BAKERY! 12/2/2010

AMAZING BAKERY! Just look at the website to see all the pictures! just eye popping creations to suit every sweettooth. Moist, delicious cakes, tortes and pastries - I have been to many weddings with their sweet tables... nothing is left at the end!!! Their cakes are super moist and come in a variety of flavors... not the usual pick of vanilla or chocolate and one type of buttercreme... i'm talking about i.e pear cake with glaze (#1 fave!!), raspberry ganache chocolate fudge cake, black forest cherry cake, cappuccino deliciousness... and so many more. The decorations are stunning and the Polish ladies that take care of everything... phenomenal! They have more than one location as well. I recommend it!!! more

To everyone who helped on our wedding day; Oscar and I couldn't be more grateful to all of those who helped put our wedding day together. Your help and patience made the day what it was and it was fabulous! Our families and the two of us received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was. They have to say this, right? I was in awe when I walked into the reception room and saw your sweet table, as were all the guests. Compliments poured in about the sweet table all night and to this day. It will be long remembered by all our guests and me. A stunning masterpiece 10/27/2010

Dear Oak Mill Bakery, Thank you very much for providing our wedding cake for our wedding on June 5th, 2010. The cake arrived right on time, and our guests could not stop talking about it's appearance. It was a work of art, a stunning masterpiece. Then came the time when they got to taste it. It was fantastic. The yellow cake was moist, the mocha filling was rich and cream, and the fondant frosting with the silver sheen really was "the icing on the cake". Our guests could not stop talking about it, even after the night was over. We will gladly recommend you to all of our friends. Your staff was wonderful, ad the product was well beyond what we could have hoped for. Thank you for making our day so wonderful! more

Pastry wonderland 10/19/2010

The moment you walk in, you're in a pastry wonderland. They greet you and walk you to a little bistro area to sit down for your tasting. Basia, the woman helping us with our tasting, offered us coffee or tea, then gave us all our options of flavors we could try. Then she handed us about 10 different binders with photographs of cake designs they have done before. more

Great paczkis 10/5/2010

On Fat Tuesday I was given 2 paczkis - one from here and one from another bakery. This place wins by a mile. Where the #2 paczki was huge and sloppy, Oak Mill's was perfectly round and nicely sized. Where the #2 weighed probably a half pound from the mass of filling, Oak Mill's filling was just enough, encased within a pastry that was less donut and more like brioche; sweet but not cloying. more

Everything was scrumptious! 10/1/2010

Holy Moly! Everything was scrumptious! It was also extremely fresh (I'm almost positive it just came out of the oven). We ended up choosing vanilla and chocolate cake, raspberry filling, chocolate ganache, and vanilla and chocolate filling because we couldn't decide which flavors we liked more. Everything was light and fluffy, and the fillings were the perfect amount of sweet, leaving your mouth feeling just delightful! more

excellent pastry 9/23/2010

In my opinion there are only few nations in the world who are good at pastries and that list shall include Central European countries such as Poland. Every year, somewhere in August, I start rubbing my hands contemplating about my birthday cake to be ordered at Oak Mill. Last year I had chocolate layered cake with cocoa filling. Previous one, I had cocoa cream layered cake. They never skip on good ingredients in order to look for cheaper and trendier options. In general I detest cupcakes. I think they are bastardized versions of beautiful, big, voluptuous creations called cake. I'm glad that this store at least adheres to the strict European tradition of excellent pastry. more

Quality has changed.. 4/20/2006

Oak Mill bakery has been around for many years. My family and I have been visiting it since I was a little child. While they have an extensive line of delicious looking baked goods here, I do think the quality has gone down over the years. The cakes are not always all that fresh when I go here and the quality of their ingredients has definitely gone down. Though most of their desserts look amazingly tasty, they do not always taste the same unfortunately. I think there are better bakeries in the area. more

The Oak Mill Bakery has great selection of tortes, cakes, breads...and almost anything you can think of. Their products are not very sweet. Fruit tarts and small cakes are decorated wonderfully. Their are great for any kind of party. Birthday cakes are affordable, however small cakes and treats are little bit expensive. more

Oak Mill Bakery 8/19/2005

The Oak Mill Bakery has been at Oakton and Milwaukee for several years now. They have a great selection of cakes and tortes, many of which have fresh fruit on the top. They also sell various types of coffee cakes, breads, rolls, and bakery type cookies, too. And at Christmas and Easter they have all types of special holiday treats too - and yes, they have the traditional lamb cake at Easter. And, of course, they have kolachky, including my favorite apricot (yum!) and prune (yuk!). There is a parking lot, but they also deliver (and have refrigerated vans with cake on board signs). more
