I would highly that recommend that anyone looking for a new dentist go see Dr. Brendan Chiou at The Exchange Dental Group. He is helpful, skilled, and makes even the most unpleasant dental experiences bearable. Also, the staff at Exchange Dental is SO NICE and helpful, both over the phone and in person. Dr. Chiou is especially good at answering questions and making sure that you are comfortable with what is going on and what he will be doing. Check it out.

The office is nice and all the staff are nice. However the doctor i meet was extremely rude and impolite. He is very argumentative on every questions I asked him. He didn't have experience when i asked him some specific questions and try to give me his guess while trying to play that he is an expert. I am now questioning his education and license. He must have gotten some scammed license or something. He even speaks like an uneducated idiot!!!!

Dr Chiou has always been very understanding and I've always had a very nice and comfortable experience whenever I've had any dental work completed. I recently visited my hometown (Richmond,VA) family dentist who actually commented on the quality of my dental work and told me that I had found a good dentist. Very surprised to read the previous comment as Dr. Chiou is always such a nice person. I have not hesitated to send my friends to him.

I was greatly disappointed with the experience I had with the dentist at the Exchange Dental Group, especially after the couple of good reviews I saw on this site. The receptionist was nice and professional while the dentist was pompous, arrogant and had an attitude problem. This is the first review I make but felt compelled to write because I had seen good reviews -- One would have to wonder. Stay clear of this place. It is a waste of time. There are plenty of good dentists who actually want your business and behave as professional caring dentists -- not this one!!!

In the 5 years I've been going back to this place, I've seen about 3-4 dentists. All the ones prior have been okay or seemingly selfish (I felt like one dentist only cared about how much I spent on cosmetic services). My last visit was with Dr. Brendon Chiou. It was fabulous. The hygienist, as others in this office that I've met, was very pleasant and professional. Dr. Chiou explained everything for me, what I should look out for, the state of my teeth and what i appreciated most was an honest assessment of my teeth. I didn't feel like he was out for his own agenda. Not only that, but he was patient in answering all my questions. I didn't feel like he was rushing me out the door all the while keeping to his appointment time. The front desk ladies though... they act like college girls there to just make a buck. If they are, I guess that's to be expected, otherwise, their manager better get on them to step up the customer service.

Was referred ther from my law firm where everyone has been talking about Dr. Chiou. They were right. He really cares about what he does and is extremely honest about his suggestions. after seeing him, I wasted my time to get a second opinion at another dentist who tried to do crowns and "onlays" in teeth that dr. Chew had recommended only fillings. Dr. Brendon Chiou has since completed all of my work consisting of multiple fillings and one crown. He made sure that I was very comfortable throughout the visits and the work he did feels perfect. He has the lightest touch of any dentist that I have ever seen. I've referred many of my collegues to Dr. Chiou and they all return from their appointments with similar rave reviews. The only bad part of my visits was the front desk girl who greets you at the door. She was very impatient and somewhat rude. I almost left as soon as she threw me some forms to fill out. Glad I did stay.

the staff at the front desk is extremely nice.....the office is spacious and clean. But the doctor who i worked with had a terrible attitude. After my first visit to see him (the doctor) he was rude, impolite, and full of attitude. NOT A VERY PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE!!! avoid this office.....there are plenty of other offices in manhattan as spacious and clean as this one.

I live in Chicago and work in NYC so all my docs are in Chicago. Dr. Sobol saw me very late in the afternoon and did all the prep work and the root canal that afternoon. Their approach was very customer centered and they did an excellent job on the canal and the crown. I have recommended them to other friends in NYC.

I was a patient in 2004-2005. Had a filling done. He screwed it up, the nerve inflamed because the filling was uneven. In constant pain, they finally filed it down a little bit. Didn't do anything. Filed the filling a little more. No improvement. I was told to wait it out. 6 months later, the tooth actually cracked. I went to a different dentist. He told me the filling would have to be replaced, mass decay underneath because it was such a shoddy job. Avoid.
