Good old days!!! 5/1/2009

A real place to hang out with all kinds of people. Very friendly and always something going on. The family that runs it is really nice. They are trying to keep "The Old beach" spirit alive and are doing a great job! more

It's my favorite bar...bar none! 8/27/2007

I've been going to Pete's since I was 18. It is what a bar should be; a friendly mix of people from every walk of life. You get a good drink for a fair price. The bartenders remember you when you come back...or at least what you drink which is the important thing. I also love it because you can tell Pete's loves our military fighting men and women. There are photos throughout the bar of planes and ships given to Pete's from the captains, marines and other service men who flew and sailed them. There is even a flag displayed prominently on the main wall which covered the coffin of Pete Jensen who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. I'm told he was a foot soldier who bravely followed the tanks in to battle and survived. You have to love this place! more

Pete's Bar 4/2/2006

Pete’s Bar has been a landmark in Neptune Beach since 1933. They say that is the oldest continuously operating bar in northeast Florida. Pete's is very laid back. Shorts and flip flops are fine. It's pretty big and has two rooms with a long bar and one of the rooms has pool tables. There is also ping-pong and foosball tables. John Grisham wrote about Pete's Bar in his novel, The Brethren. Also, Ernest Hemingway visited Pete's. more

Pete's Bar 2/27/2006

No flashing lights, no fancy building, and no frills.... this is a REAL bar! Not just any bar, but Pete's Bar. A place that need no local introduction. Pete's in the oldest bar in Duval County being run by 3rd & 4th generation ownership. It's been a beach landmark for over 70 years. The beer and drink prices are still the lowest in the area, and you can play a game of pool for just a quarter. They have wooden tables, benches, and bar stools. They even have a dance floor. You can kick up your heels and have a great time. Perhaps this is why Pete's Bar has been voted 'Best of Jax' on numerous occasions by various prestigious Jacksonville publications. The staff is always friendly and the crowd is always just a little rowdy. It's what makes Pete's the place you've got to visit while your in the Neptune beaches area or if you move here, maybe you'll just end up making it your favorite local watering hole. Pete's was the first bar I went to when I first moved to the area years ago and I think it convinced me I had made a good location choice. Pete's Bar is the oldest bar in Duval County that is run by 3rd & 4th generation ownership. Pete's has won numerous "Best of Jax" awards from Folio Weekly, Waters Edge, Shorelines and The Florida Times Union. The beer & drink prices are still the lowest at the beach, and pool is still only a quarter per game. Come visit a true landmark at the beaches and see why Pete's has been in business for over 70 years. more
