i love my 13 year old home !! it is marvelous architecture and allows great aesthetics at low price. There are issues, yes. The cedar fencing falls apart, because CBH used wrong screws and they have rotted. The metal flashing at roofing edge does not work well, so facia has mold (maybe even toxic black variety) within 3 years of painting. Beware drip patterns after rain !! Over time you can lose outside window molding. Clapboard siding wasn't sealed at bottom of vertical boards, so I have to sister-in new boards. It's a small sacrifice to have a wonderful floor plan.
