Elvis history 8/22/2005

Was much more than I expected and I enjoyed much more than I thought. Wonderful displays of Elvis memories for everyone who has heard and loved his music no matter their age. The displays are well organized and put togeather. This is a great piece of Rock and Roll History. Fans of Elvis will really enjoy the trip through his home. So if you love the King check this out. more

Nice 8/20/2005

Visited this mansion a little less than a year ago in the winter time. The grounds are very nice and the area is very clean. The tour is fairly cheap and is audio. I tend to frown upon audio tours but I figured that I will give it a shot. There is alot of history that can be learned from this tour about Elvis' history and his family including some of the living, like Lisa Marie. I think that this is the type of attraction one should go to if they don't have anywhere else to go in Memphis. more

The King's house 8/19/2005

Most visitors to Memphis will make a stop to the home of Elvis Presley. Various tours are available providing you with just about every sort of piece of information you could imagine. My favorite part? That would be the Jungle Room. This is truly a 70s style eclectic dream come true (Take a look at the simulated grass ceiling!). This place is fun to visit even if you are not a die-hard Elvis fan. Be sure to bring plenty of money if you plan on taking home anything from the gift shop. During the Christmas season, the house is beautifully decorated inside and out. more

not so inpressive 8/14/2005

Though a Memphian, I guess I am not much of an Elvis fan. The tour of his house ok. Wasn't so impressive like people had made it out to be. Admission way too expensive i think. This is definitely for the Elvis fans who still spend big bucks on the man. Not worth it, if you dont like Elvis as much. A Memphis attraction i would skip! more

Amazing! 8/13/2005

You get to see most of Elvis's personal items, from the cars he drove, items in his house, gun collection, and much much more. Even if you aren't an Elvis fan they did a great job of exhibiting all his accomplishments and life achievements. There is a huge hall full of records and several of his outfits! more

interesting, but not for the $$ 8/5/2005

yea, its a great location to visit for babyboomers, or those vacationers that actually care about elvis. For the rest of us, graceland is not that interseting. Yea there's a carpetted room, cafe with elvis's famous fried banana sandwich, etc. but for the money you pay, its not worth it. more

Editorial
  • Overview
Since it opened to the public in 1982, Elvis Presley's beloved Graceland has become the nation's most-visited home, second only to the White House. What's the attraction? Perhaps it's the decor, which runs the gamut from the royal blue-and-white living room with its limousine-sized couch, to the wildly tacky jungle room, where a ceramic monkey stands guard over the leopard-print sofas and faux waterfall.

    The Experience
Although the superstar is buried in the Meditation Garden here at Graceland, he lives on in the hearts of his fans. Visitors may marvel at Elvis' Hall of Fame, where all of his gold records are displayed. Don't miss the King's clothes, including his bejeweled costumes, capes, karate belts, his tuxedo and Priscilla's petite wedding dress. Visitors can choose from three types of tours: mansion only, the platinum option, or the ultimate VIP tour.
