Best Hair Salon in the Monmouth County. Warm and friendly atmosphere, genuine helpfulness, good humor, and amazing haircuts. I just moved to the east coast and was in dire need of a good haircut; not having too much luck for over a year. It is always a scary thing trying a new salon. George was extremely helpful. He, made hair cutting an art form all in itself. I have never had the pleasure of seeing someone so focused and really love their work. George devoted his time and creativity. My haircut was amazing. Best haircut I have had yet! I was transformed, from un-even, split-ended hair, to beautiful curls, to chic style. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks You. more

The quality of service, the attention to detail, the emphasis on client satisfaction - Just a few reasons why after switching around to various salons in Monmouth county, this is the best salon I've encountered. Siv is a true professional. You can tell - she takes the time to listen to clients and won't try to convince you into doing something your uncomfortable with. more

Best Color and Highlight EVER! 11/19/2010

I tried this salon a while back after reading all the great reviews which were right on the money. My hair has not looked this good in years. He updated my haircut which I love .The color and highlights was the look I have always wanted but never got it from anyone else. My stylist George was the owner and what an experience just amazing! He knew exactly what I wanted and took such care even took the time to show me how to style my hair myself at home. I just could not be happier. I have been stop so many times in just a few day asking who did my hair! I'm so glad I found this salon. I will be back for sure! Thanks more

He is amazing 3/1/2010

I have gone to plenty of hair salons but after I was referred to First Impression Studio, I never had to look again. I drive all the way from NY once a month to get a haircut from George. I have been going to him for over 2 years now and extremely talented. He knows what he is doing. Check out First Impression and get a haircut with him! I promise you'll love it!? more

THE PLACE TO GO EVERY TIME! 2/11/2010

I have been all over the U.S. for a good colorist. I have had colorists "fry" my hair and have been very unhappy with the products that most colorists use. George Low is a genius when it comes to color and hair. He knows exactly what color works with your skin tone. If you want a natural look, He is the colorist for you. Stylists I know have complimented my hair color and have been fooled into thinking the color that I have is natural. No matter where I am in the US, I fly home to Him in Little Silver to see George to color and highlight my hair. Bravo To First Impression Studio! more

Expert Colorist, Great Attitude. I have been in this area for three years and it was not until a month ago that I actually got not just what I wanted, but more. I walked out with a smile on my face and confidence rather than wanting to bury my head in the sand. They actually listened to me when I said I was growing my hair out and instead of chopping it he gave it an amazing shape and his color is off the hook!!! He KNOWS how to tweak your color and give highlights that ARE highlights and not those cheesy stripes everyone walks around with. Thank goodness for George or else I would have to continue drive back to NYC just to get a hair cut and color. more

George is such a pro, I was so impressed. He turned my nightmare, damaged, overly processed and brassy hair color into a sparkling natural looking blonde. The difference is astounding. Hard work, but He made it look so easy. He really took the time and energy to not only listen to what I wanted but to figure out what color would truly look great. George is so talented. He was able to really get the most out of my curly hair. The atmosphere at First Impression is hip, yet friendly and wonderfully unpretentious. What a great experience! Highly recommended! more

I wanted to cut my hair really short and decided to go to the salon because of its great reputation. And they certainly lived up to it! Siv was my stylist and she did a great job! She listened to what I wanted and it came out perfectly. more

A great place to try 8/14/2009

I decided to try this salon based on an extensive research, as well as a desire to find a less snobby atmosphere. George was my colorist. he was fantastic! Sweet, non-pretentious and so so talented!! In the past other colorists insisted to make my hair lighter, even though I always felt it was too light. he dared to listen to my wish and I ended up with a gorgeus brown color with so much dimension, I just love it! It surely did wonders for my eyes and skin! He also cut it for me, he is so good! He made me feel soo amazing! My hair looked so beautiful, so shiny and so rich when I left. I would highly recommend it to anyone, surely me and my friends will visit again!! more

Awesome 4/25/2009

I always had great experience at this studio. Siv colors my hair. She takes the time to go over the process with me, she take her time to go over photos of hair colors that I thought were good as well as gave her own recommendations. My color turned out great ever time! When Siv is done with your hair it moves and glides with you. She makes sure she spends the time to get it right. I receive more compliments on my hair since Siv has been cutting and coloring my hair. The color is always complimentary to my skin tones and she changes it up a bit for the seasons, I always love it when she does my hair. Thanks Siv!!!! more

More » For the last 5 years, I have been going to new york to get my hair japanese straightened. It worked great at first , but over time i started having a lot of breakage and my hair was looking fine and dull. A family member who is a client of George suggested I see him for a consult. He told me about the Brazillian straightening process (he does Japanese as well) and I felt it was time for a change. My hair has never looked so shiny, healthy and strong. It is amazing!! It looks so natural!!! My friends tell me that my hair never looked better. George takes the time to get the job done right. George also colors and cuts my hair and it really looks fantastic. I will not be going back to the Japanese method for straightening-it is Brazillian for me. My hair has so much more body and because of that it looks so natural. Besides the fact that it costs less and takes less time, it is far healthier as it is not a chemical, but a protein that is natural to the hair!!! Call George-he will tell you all about it!!! He is an expert in his craft. I am so happy with the results!!! more

Thank you for transforming me into a new fabulous me! 2/17/2009

I have looked for a hairstylist for over 7 months and had a few bad experiences. I read so many fabulous reviews about this shop I just had to check it out for myself. So I called. I was nervous about cutting my hair as I have had several bad haircuts and curly hair isn't as forgiving as straight hair. George took the time to ask me a lot of questions and made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in his chair. He gave me the most fabulous, stylish / haircut I have ever had! He changed my color I was shocked at first, but from the moment I left the salon I received compliment after compliment on my new sexy style and color. I feel like a new woman and my husband loves it too! I don't think He has any idea how much he has changed my world! He is amazing and I will make the somewhat long trip to see him again. I took my friend with me and she was so inspired by the wonderful atmosphere she had to try a facial with Siv while I got my cut and color. She said it was amazing. Siv was so friendly and really spent the time on my friend. Thank you for transforming me into a new fabulous me! I feel so great! more
