Best Car buying experience Steven Kaney made buying a car EASY. We contacted Costco to see about their Auto Program and Ron Tonkin Kia and Steven was one of the dealers they gave us. When contacted by Steven he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions without beating around the bush. I am a give me the bottom line kind of person and when asked what it would cost he gave me the bottom line. However, when the final paper work was done the bottom line was even lower which made us even happier. We drove away in a new 2013 Kia Rio which we had drove at one of their competitors but since Tonkin didn't have the exact style we wanted (sedan vs hatchback) Steven located 4 options to pick from one happened to be one we had drove earlier at a car lot across town. We drove home in the only Kia Rio we had ever drove. We are very pleased and recommend Ron Tonkin Kia and Steven highly. Shortly after, I searched the internet for comparable pricing, before dealing with the ins. co., and Mr. Steve Kaney returned my call. He was so pleasant, understanding, and compassionate, that I began to have hope. We haven't yet purchased another Kia, but will, and very probably may deal directly with Steve. What a genuine personality and willingness to help. I can't see anyone not receiving fabulous, personal service from him for a unique car buying experience! more

I purchased my 2011 Soul + from Ron Tonkin KIA a few months ago. I highly recommend this KIA dealership over any of the others in the Portland and surrounding areas. The level of service from new car sales to service and parts is beyond excellent. Everyone at this dealership is very professional, friendly and work together as a great team. My new car salesman Scott Mooers and sales manager Floyd Schafer provided me the ultimate in customer service during and after the purchase of my Soul. My experience was as good as it gets!!! more

Had been shopping for a new car for several months talking to many dealerships. So the day before Thanksgiving 2011 I decided to go with Tonkin Kia in Gladstone after getting the best online negotiations ever. Fast, simple, they beat two other dealerships that said they were at their rock bottom price. Went in and meant with Gary Overmyer to finalize the deal, which was painless. He was very nice not pushy and not the ""typical car salesman"". Bought the 2011 Kia which I love! Had it now 8 months and never been happier. Have been back to Tonkin Kia for an oil change and the service deartment and people are great as well. Will definately buy my next car from Tonkin!! more

I recently purchased a used Challenger (which I LOVE) at Ron Tonkin Kia in Gladstone and I can not express enough on what a wonderful experience I had! Everyone I worked with was friendly, professional, knowledgable and went over and above what was expected. I felt comfortable, like I was just hanging out with friends and family! They made sure I understood the features of the vehicle and was very thorough on explaining things to me. Scott Moores and Steve Cainy answered all my questions and have been great at checking back with me after I left..Even the manager,Jim came out and congratulated me on my new car and made sure that I was happy...If you are EVER looking for a car, go to Ron Ton Kia...Thanks for eveything-A customer for life. more

Great Salesmen (ask for Scott M.) 5/10/2009

I went into the dealership looking for a used car, and Scott pointed out that at my budget I could afford a new car since they had a $3,500 rebate deal. He offered to test drive with me and let me take the car out longer than any other test drive I went on that day. I was also given the chance to take the car on my own for the rest of the day to make sure it suited me. The whole process was pain-free and very low pressure. Watch Out!! 7/24/2008

I purchased a vehicle here and now regret it. Financing was never approved and I returned the car. They have sold my truck i brought in as trade. I wanted to give them another chance to make things right. Jim told me that they can?t sell my truck until they had approval for financing. I agreed Floyd called me back to say that once I get a job I can get the car back. I informed him this was unacceptable as I no longer have a car and they had no right selling my truck. They were very rude to me and told me that I breached the contract when I lost my job. I told them that regardless of anything else, they breached it by selling my truck before they had final approval for funding as stated in ordinance 646a.090. I informed him I have spoken with the department of justice and asked for legal advice and I wanted to give them a chance to make things right, this is when Jim hung up on me. more

My New Kia!!!! 7/1/2008

I was very nervous about going to a car dealership. I wont lie! I dreaded going to any car dealership. My last(and first) experience at an Easy-Credit-No-One-Turned-Down-Lot was terrible!!! Pushy, greasy salesmen, high interest, and I was just hoping to not have to take the bus home! The difference at Ron Tonkin couldn't have been more obvious! The people that worked there seem to really enjoy working there. I had called, and talked to funny guy name "Alex". I was far less nervous to go after having yakked with him. When I arrived, he was waiting for me. He was friendly, knowledglable, and super-approachable. He gave me sound information, and lots of options. I was really just after the fuel economy and not raising my monthy payments. We settled on Spectra, test drove then got down to the nitty-gritty, so to speak. I was able to get a fair priced, no hassle approval. The people there were more than professional. Friendly & courteous. I dont want to go on and on, but I am telling you Alex was great! Not greasy or pushy. He didn't have that fast-talking, car-sales-guy thing going on either. It was like having my Uncle show me around. No pressure, (ok, well he had a job to do, but ALMOST, no pressure! ha!). I will be back for my next car. I am not sure if it will be a Kia yet, (my dang cd player is stuck with a cd in it). But Alex assures me they will take care of it tonight when I take the Kia in. As great as my experience was with the whole Ron Tonkin Team, I will follow Alex to the ends of the Earth, to sell me my next car. Or my Husbands next car. I'd recommend calling him today. If you are thinking about needing a new car, nervous to find a real human, to show you the cars. Just Call Alex Osinski, I am sure he'll take good care of you. And he's really funny too! Ha! Also, I'll be back here to update how Ron Tonkin takes care of the CD player. That would be my only reservation, and really that's Kia, not the dealership. We'll just see how it goes. Wow! The best experience buying a used car ever! 6/8/2008

I just purchased a used 2007 Pontiac G6 GT from Ron Tonkin Kia. We were just looking and a G6 happened to catch my eye at another lot, which by the way that lot had what I would call a typical used car salesman. We wanted to take a look at Kias so we went to Ron Tonkin Kia and had mentioned that we just looked at a G6 and what do you know, they just happened to have a G6 they just purchased from Hertz. Steven Kaney was our sales rep and if you get a chance to buy a car from him, I highly recommend it. His attention to our needs was superb. We purchased the car at the price I wanted and traded in my old vehicle sight unscene. Wow! They only bad thing was that the key fobs didn't work for keyless entry. Other than that great experience! Pros: They listen to our needs and don't try to take you for everything you're worth Cons: Key fobs were broken more
