A Small Animal Hospital

We have had several experiences with these wonderful vets and their caring staff and they all have been good. I have coming to them ever since I got a new blond labrador puppy and was not sure where I should go until I started asking around. I started asking because I wanted to form a bond with people I could trust. I checked with my best friend, my co-worker, and finally family that live in town. They all said the same thing, "Take Max to see Dr. Amy!" Really, I was amazed at their kindness and genuine caring. They have been so gentle, informative, and supportive. Also, they worked with my grandmother and her cat, "Bubbles", for years and were always willing to work together on making sure that Grandma's kitty got excellent care. Trust me.. if Bubbles and Grandma loves someone/something/ somewhere.. it must be good. Really, after some not so good experiences (not in Federal Way) we are so happy to have a clinic that we can always trust. Thank you! PS I also witnessed a gentleman who had just put down his beloved pet, and they went out to the parking lot to check on him. And they called him later that evening to make sure he was ok. Trust me. That sort of compassion, brings customers back.. more

We recently had my terrier mix into A Small Animal Hospital for vaccines and a dental cleaning. My wife and I have been taking all our pets (2 cats, 3 dogs) to them for several years, ever since we moved to Federal Way 9 years ago. We have always found Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark to be kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. The staff is caring and friendly as well. In an era of corporate veterinary hospitals and discount slap and dash quickie clinics it is soooo nice to have an animal hospital where they understand that pets are a member of the family. I have advised co-workers to take their four legged family members here as well and they have always been pleased and impressed. One lady at work actually thanks me every once in a while for speaking up and telling her where to go for veterinary care. Great staff, great service, wonderful, compassionate and caring. I took my dog in for a second opinion because the previous vet hadn't sorted out Tiger's problems. I'd been going to my previous vet for years but I took a friend's recommendation and tried A Small Animal Hospital. Dr. Besola and her staff took excellent care of my poorly diagnosed dog, did a preliminary biopsy, gave me options, and in particular, did not go out of the scope of her capabilities. Even though I had a dog that had terminal cancer, she and her staff made time for me when I needed help with him and when the time came to put him to sleep, they were wonderful. My new vet is A Small Animal Hospital, even though I have to drive 30 minutes to get there. I cannot compliment them enough. more

I’ve been here 3 times recently and really like them. I just moved from California and have had trouble finding a vet that was as good as my longtime vet back home. I started coming to by the prescription diet—I couldn’t find it at the last vet on a consistent basis. It's a small office, just 2 vets who are brother and sister. The office feels homey and the assistants were warm and friendly. The doctors have dogs of their own and my son adores the big yellow lab, Bully. Seeing animals makes it obvious that these are people who really like animals and treat them like family. That’s the kind of vets I want treating my pets. My dog had a dental last Friday. The surgery went well and they called me right afterward to let me know all had gone well. I was so relieved. I highly recommend Amy and Mark. more

I really liked the doctors and technicians at A Small Animal Hospital! I feel like the 2 vets here care very much about my dogs. I have taken them here since I moved to Federal Way. I like them because they listen and practice good medicine. They put the best interest of my animals first. The exams were very thorough and they have the knowledge and ability to accurately diagnose and treat my animals. Great work from trusted professionals! more

I had a very sad day as I had to put my sweet Nabi to sleep. Dr. Amy Besola was so nice. I have never had someone treat me so gently and although my decision was difficult, Dr. Amy was exceptionally kind. Thank you for making a tough day better. I really appreciate the nice receptionist and assistant who helped me there. more

I really appreciate being able to board my beloved pets when I go away. I know Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark are animal lovers and that there place treats my babies like family. I can't believe how fast Dr. Mark was able to help my beloved Rascal. I brought him in last Wednesday and by Thursday knew that he was on the road back to normal. He had a terrible abscessedd tooth that needed to be pulled. The little guy was crying in pain and just not himself. The assistant was so gentle and kind. Thank you for all your help. I appreciate the outstanding service I received with Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark. Their staff was exceptionally patient and gentle with my beloved Trixie. I wish my physicians were as thorough and moved as quickly to take care of me. I plan to tell all my friends about these wonderful people. more

I really love coming to visit Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark. They obviously care about their patients and I like knowing I am going to vets that genuinely like me and my pets (you can tell by their excellent bedside manners!) I received tough news today, but I appreciate their gentle treatment and kindnesses. I will be back. more

The doctor blamed our dog for its behavior when in reality it was not the dogs fault...it was the owner and the doctor. My dog was scared to death of the doctor. Animals have a way of sensing things and my dog was telling me to get the heck out of there!! We ended up going to Vets-For-Less and they/ we had no problems whatsoever. We also saved almost half on the costs of vaccinations. more

I am very pleased with the care my poor, sick kitten received on President's day. My regular vet was closed and I am extremely grateful Dr. Amy was able to get Furbie right in. I am happy to report he is much better. The hospital seemed very clean and the staff was friendly and caring. Thank you! more

I really am pleased with the care my German Shepard, Max, received when he hurt his leg. These are great vets--they explained everything and were very gentle with Max. They took good x-rays and found out his problem right away. He's feeling better already. Thanks for being there! more

I agree with all the super reports on this place. My pets get the best care at A Small Animal Hospital. Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark are really great and its obvious they are passionate about their work. I always tell my friends to take their animals there. These are wonderful vets. more
