When it comes to sushi these guys do it right. We've tried several other places around and no one even comes close to Akai Hana. Their rolls are always fresh and I've never tried one I didn't like. Definitely try the crispy shrimp roll, very tasty. Best of all the price is very reasonable, not to mention they have some killer specials. The best place in Chapel Hill to get sushi!!!

With one exception everythign I ever ate at Elmo's was delicious. I can't say enough good things about the turkey and gravy plate. They'll gladly substitute fries for mashed potatoes and I love that. In fact, they'll work with you on most anything.
My favorite special was the turkey and dressing. Just like, no wait-- better!-- than my mom made it.
Check out the recession menu for some good deals!
Pros: Good prices, great food, friendly service
Cons: brunswick stew

Akai Hana has the best sushi I've had in the triangle. All the ingredients are fresh and I've never experienced anything being past its prime or overly fishy. This is a great place to come with a group of friends and order up a huge platter of sushi. The miso soup is pretty standard. The potato croquettes are a tatsy appetizer. Come early if you want to eat here on a Friday or Saturday, as there will always be a line and a long wait.

Cat's Cradle is a great venue if you're into non-mainstream music. Concert tickets are never over $20, usually $10-12, so it's really worth it seeing bands like Metric, Pinback, New Pornographers, as well as great local bands! Another great thing about it is the bar in the back so you can have drinks as you watch a show, and if you don't like the opening band, you can chill on the patio in the back!

We walked in to a very charming and very inviting dining room, but chose to sit outside on the patio. I have never seen such an eclectic group of diners in one restaurant. We asked our waiter what his favorites were and were not disappointed. The bisque was wonderful and the escargots were sensational. The three of us ate the Seafood Quartet, which allowed us to sample four fish entrees. I love to try a little of everything so this was right up my alley. We finished off with the Rosemary Ice Cream. Unbelievably creamy. We really appreciated the easy parking too. I am looking forward to going back, maybe with a date this time.
Pros: Seafood
Cons: One annoying mosquito

Forget about Cosmic Cantina - Carrburritos can't be beat. This place is fantastic - locally owned, friendly staff, great burritos, amazing guacamole. The food here is of a consistently superb quality. I've never been disappointed here. I bring just about every friend or family member who comes to the Triangle area to visit. They all love it. You order your food in a line, find a good table, and they bring it to you. The margaritas are great too, and sitting outside is wonderful in the Spring and Fall.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Triangle area! The atmosphere is contemporary and quiet, as well as warm and polite. The crab cakes area heavenly - any seafood there is, really - and the appetizers and desserts are always worth the money. It's expensive, so we save it for special occasions, but we've also gone once or twice and just split the Kobe burger at the bar. And you can't beat ACME for Sunday brunch. Their homemade biscuits, strawberry butter, delicious coffee and diner-style potatoes make this the place we always take a weekend guest.

Weaver Street Market is a great place for organic groceries, but they also serve great food and coffee. What i like best about it is that they have a seating section inside, but they also have a quad with picnic tables outside. The internet access is free and they also have music or art festivals there almost every Sunday!

I had the best vegetarian food ever! I've eaten vegetarian food all my life, my dad is a vegetarian. I, however ate beef until 98 and turkey and chicken until February 09! I have to say this makes me happy that I've let the meat go! The food was so good, I went the first time this week Tuesday, went back after work to place an order to go and today, 2 days later, I'm planning to drive all the way to Carrboro from work..which by the way is in Burlington and I live in Greensboro. My husband loved it too (I brought him some carry out!) I love this spot and will go whenever I can
Pros: Variety of foods
Cons: Location
