Not for family consumption? What 6/11/2009

Why the 1-star reviewer had such a bad experience at Rainbow is beyond me! Their coffee is good and strong, including the fine espresso drinks; I love Olga, the barrista; there's a nice big playroom for kids in the back section; and they have Marianne's ice cream! What's not to like? Yes, it's funky; it's the mountains, guys! ... but where else can you sit by a living redwood tree trunk, indoors, and listen to the brook outside? more

Horrific. Not A Place I'd Take My Family... 1/22/2008

This place is horrific. Not a place for families or kids. The owner will defanatly let you know how he feels about stupid insignifigant things like coming in with packages from another store.Even if you buy his coffee. He's condescending and Bullying. Also loves to dial 911. and Loves to tell you what kind of a person he thinks you are. If your not in tears by the time you leave, he's not satisfied. If i were you, i'd stay out of that place. and keep your kids from there too, they will learn quite the vocabulary from the owner. more

Rainbows End 1/9/2006

Rainbows End is a nice, comfortable place to get a bagel and a latte. The building is built around the trunk of a massive redwood tree, which is the main feature of the building and goes right out through the roof! The redwood tree is strung with lights at Christmas time, creating a towering landmark of a Christmas tree that can be seen from the far end of town! the back side of the restaurant overlooks the San Lorenzo River. It's a great place to sit and enjoy a quiet cup of java and listen to the river. more
