City Salon & Spa

I should have listened after I read the poor reviews on Yahoo, recently. The atmosphere is nice, but that's about it. First of all, the girl at the front desk had gotten my appointment mixed up with another girls and either didn't see me sitting (RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER!) or pretended not to, and like an idiot I had already given them my Visa number because I had had a VERY crappy massage there a few days earlier and she ended up charging me for not showing up unbeknowest to me while I was sitting right there, reading a magazine. When I noticed on my watch that 15 minutes had passed since my appointment time, I went up to the desk and asked another girl (the girl who had mixed me up had apparently left) why my appointment was taking so long. After about a half hour later, she realized that my appointment had been mixed up with another girls and asked me if I wanted to reschedule because if that wasn't bad enough, the girl who was set to do my hair hadn't even shown up yet! I left out of there steaming and found out about threeweeks later they had charged me full price for not showing up! I then called the salon's manager who was still there at the time before she moved west and explained this situation to her, and she told me that I should have filed a complaint on the front desk employee that day, but I did not know she had charged me nor did I care to remember the girl's name. And I agree with an earlie r post, even the waiting area seats have price tags on them. What a joke this place was! more

I have never felt so welcomed in a salon before. I find it hard to believe the reviews I see here on this place since my experience was totally different. I am used to going to high end type places in NY and I felt right at home at City Salon. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! more

This place is not worth the money! They put me with a new stylist that almost ruined my hair by getting her HAIRDRYER STUCK in my hair. She then said she would have to CUT the dryer out of my hair. I sat there for 10 minutes and tried to get the dryer out while she walked away. And the best part is that I was charged FULL PRICE! more

They try to sell you everything but the kitchen sink at this place. You walk in and there is jewelry, furniture, and clothing for sale. After they cut your hair, they give you a "menu" of all of the products they used in your hair, just in case you want to buy them. The haircut I got here was basic and pretty good. I thought the price was too high, though. The staff was pleasant. I probably won't go back. more
