I ordered the chicken mole special to go. As I waited I noticed the signs on the tables ""While we are not a full service restaurant our employees work hard and appreciate tips""....

This place has been closed for over a year!!! 7/27/2008

It was good many years ago, then a new owner took over and the quality, selection and service all dropped off. It has been closed for over a year. Please remove this from the listing. Pros: Was good when open. Cons: Closed for good now. more

Eh. 3/27/2007

ZuZu's is NOT authentic Mexican food, it's not even really Mexican (I don't know any ethnic chain restaurants that are truly authentic- yes, ZuZu is a chain if you didn't know. The closest that comes to it is Mesa a few shopping centers over). It's more Tex-Mex than anything else. White teenagers, sombrero decorations, premade tortillas, ""mole"" and other food, choosing your entree combos, are not part of the Mexican culture or cuisine. I've lived in and visited Mexico more times than I can count and if you're looking for a truly authentic Mexican place, then this is not the place to go. Having gotten that off my chest, and the whole fake Mexican thing aside, ZuZus is only ok. It's definitely a h*t or miss, sometimes the food is good, other times I've had horrible experiences, mostly not so good ones. My boyfriend even got a little sick after we ate there once The cheese quesadillas are decent and they have nice crispy tortilla chips. Prices are great and it's a good place to take the kids out to dinner, but if you're looking for REAL, AUTHENTIC Mexican, then try La Lupe or Taqueria la Michoacana en Philly. Pros: Good place to take the kids, great prices, good for a quick lunch Cons: NOT AUTHENTIC Mexican, food isn't that great most of the time, but it's good when it is more

Unbelieveable deal! 7/25/2006

This restaurant is perfect if you love good mexican and don't want to pay big money to go out. If you eat in the restaurant, your entree comes with a complimentary drink (Corona and other mexican greats : )! The entrees are all pretty much less than $10 and the food is unbelieveable. Order at the counter and they bring food to your table. Convenient, fun, great place for college students (or any person looking for delicious food at a good price). Pros: Complimentary drink with meal, not too crowded, self serve Cons: Closes @ 9 on Fridays, largely mexican staff doesn't understand much english more

Not what I'd call a great experience 1/2/2006

I ordered the chicken mole special to go. As I waited I noticed the signs on the tables ""While we are not a full service restaurant our employees work hard and appreciate tips"". 20 min later I was handed a plate of food at which point I, again, asserted that I wanted it ""to go"". They had a $10.00 min for using credit/debit cards. As my total came in at just over $9.00 I had to order some nachos and queso. The mole sauce was gloppy and unappealing in texture and taste. The chicken was tough. I needed a knife to spread the queso sauce on the very greasy nacho chips. I've been back twice just to see if this was a fluke. It wasn't. I'd really avoid this place unless your idea of haute cuisine is Taco Bell. Pros: No lines at 130pm Cons: Food, Presentaition, Staff knowledge more

Best Mexican on the Main Line 7/8/2005

I live in Phoenix now, having lived very near ZuZu in nearby Paoli. We have authentic Mexican here in Phoenix- everywhere- it's inescapable. Zuzu is still our favorite Mexican. Try the Mahitas (Mahi Mahi fajitas). They rock! Pros: Food, Value, Location Cons: Big Lines at Lunch more

Great Food! 9/1/2004

The decorations and mexican tunes playing in the background combined with real mexican people cooking and waiting tables set the ambiance for a great mexican restaraunt. They offer a huge variety of homemade salsas and extras and they continue to add tasty dishes to their menu and run good specials. They have a friendly staff, outgoing managers and have always made sure that I'm happy. Their dishes are healthy and are made from wholesome and fresh ingredients (their guacamole is some of the best I've had). They're also super fast so a half hour lunch is easy to pull off. Kids love the place and families are regular customers. Great spot. Pros: Great Food, Great people, BYOB more

We Love It! 10/5/2002

We go to Zuzu every Wednesday night and LOVE it! The chips and salsa are so great and it's extremely kid-friendly. Oh yeah, you have to try their lemon-limeade! more

Buenos Nachos ! 10/4/2002

I used to work a block away and until the Mesa Grill opened, was my only choice for Mexican Food, and would still be but for the screwy Rt 202 Construction Pros: Inexpensive more

Excellent food, good price 7/12/2002

Jeez, it seems that someone really has it out for this place! I go there all the time (at least 50 times) and this place is really great. You really can't beat the price and the food comes out in almost no time at all. All the food is authentic and never had anything wrong with the food. They even have a nice little salsa bar as well. I recommend the following: Shrimp or Chicken Fajitas, Guacamole or Queso with Chips (unlimited refills of chips), and the Flautas. Pros: Delicious food, Inexpensive, Fast service more
