Best

We ate here last weekend...service was great...my wife went up there for girls night out and said it turns into a party place later in the evening....She had a great time...

Worst

The pizza here is wonderful and I use to come here all the time. It tasted very similar to the pizza I had when visiting NYC. The last time I was there I had a very rude server ...

I am addicted 1/26/2011

I go for one reason: the pizza. And it's awesome. It is my favorite pizza place in Atlanta - thank goodness I live so close to it! If you want good, fresh, non-chain pizza, do yourself a favor and try Zuccas more

Love Zucca! 5/4/2009

I love this place and frequent almost weekly. Highly reccommend the MOR (meatballs, onion, ricotta) pizza and risotto! I usually sit at the bar and Justin and Justin and Brad all rock! Looking for some good pizza, check this place out! Pros: Great Pizza and Awesome Bartenders more

Not bad food with horrible service! 4/12/2009

I go about once a month with a group of friends. Always order the same meal and this time it came out wrong. Explained to the server and she apologized and tried to fix it. Got the bill and we were charged extra because she screwed up. Asked for the manager and when the co-owner walked up to the table the first words out of his mouth were ""I already talked to the waitress and she said you ordered the wrong meal. Maybe next time you will be more specific."" I expained to the owner that she misunderstood what I asked for and I didn't mind paying my bill but i think i should get charged for what I ordered not what she decided to give me. It all boiled down to a five dollar difference in the two meals. His response was ""you ate it so you need to pay for it."" The incredible part was that my group of 8 spent close to $900.00 in food and drinks and this guy wouldn't fix a five dollar upcharge. Pros: Late nights are fun Cons: Worst service I've ever had more

Good pizza, great atmosphere 1/20/2009

Pastas are good. Love the tomatoes and mozzarella salad. Very nice place to go for a quite relaxing meal in the Smyrna Village Green. Pros: Good pizza and pastas Cons: Can't really complain about anything. more

This is the best authentic italian cooking in the SE.USA 1/10/2009

The chef has been cooking in Atlanta for years. I first tasted his cooking when he was the sous chef at Abruzzi (now closed due to retirement of the owner) in Peachtree Battle Shopping Center. He then became executive chef at Broadway Danny's also in Peachtree Battle for the the same, now retired, owner of Abruzzi. He then had his own restaurant (Arturo's in Dunwoody) which he sold and has been at Zucca ever since. \r \r I have been eating at Zucca since the chef arrived years ago. The food is excellent, fresh, and very authentic. It reminds me of Sunday dinners at my Itallian Aunt's home in the Bronx as a child. The executive chef takes one month (August) in the summer to go to Italy to cook in his uncle""s restaurant and catch up on the latest Italian cooking trends and then brings it back to Atlanta. September at the restaurant is truely remarkable. In late Janaury he goes back to Italy to work on his baking techniques for 10 days and brings that back to Atlanta. Everything is homemade (including both the sweet and hot sausage which the chef stuffs in the restuarant). In the winter try some of the home made gnocci that is the chef's father's recipe. Service is excellent and and the foccacio (which is topped with onion, tomato, basil, olive oil, and garlic ) is some of the best I have ever tasted. I spent a great deal of time in Italy in 2005 -06 and I found a dish in Torino I really liked when and I came back to Atlanta, I told the Chef (Danny) about the dish. He and his staff now make it for me any time I ask for it. Off menue specials are not a problem. If you are looking for excellent home style Italian cuisine in a casual fun environmment then this is the place for you. \r \r With repsect to the few comments about soggy pizza or poor service, no restaurant is perfect. But whenever I have experienced any sort of problem, I mention it to the maager and corrections are made immediately. With respect to ""soggy Pizza"" just consider the source. Pros: Food qualitry and quantity Cons: Long waits early in the evening during spring, summer, and early fall more

Great pizza, terrible service 6/23/2008

The pizza here is wonderful and I use to come here all the time. It tasted very similar to the pizza I had when visiting NYC. The last time I was there I had a very rude server which soured me to Zucca. She got my order incorrect and when I nicely told her that she had brought out the wrong dish, she snapped at me instead of apologizing. I got up and left the restaurant which was the first time that I had ever done that. The waitress actually chased me out to the parking lot so that she could berate me some more. The pizza might be excellent but it's not worth the rude service. Pros: Pizza is unbelievable Cons: Need to work on their customer service more

Family - Like Gotti but better 2/12/2007

Zuccas Pizza is a great place to go and be treated like family. I had my company party there at Christmas time and we all loved it. We were served great non-menu items (call ahead so they can stock up on things that are non-menu) that everyone loved sharing. The servers were great, the food is delicioso, and if you leave hungry it's your own fault as the portions are huge. I don't know who these people are on here whining on about dietary specs and the same menu for four years. The menu has range and if you don't see what you want then ask for Danny and he can make it. Italian food is made for hearty eaters not coffee snobs. I've gotten lite meals like grilled chicken with a side of pan sauted spinach that was excellent (for those of you who are particular about diet) and sausage with peppers for those of us who aren't. They feed you like Mama and I got the pounds to prove it. The place is fun, relaxing, attractive and a credit to the neighborhood. Do yourself and your family a favor and eat at Zuccas, and you'll be fat like the GodFather himself. Pros: Treat you like Family, Italian Style Cons: I don't live close enough to eat there daily more

the worse pasta and rude waiter... 12/26/2006

Pizzas to go have been great. Made the mistake of ordering a pasta dish, rude server and really bad pasta. Will not return for either, do not recommend. more

Good for the suburbs 11/21/2006

I went to Zucca with my boyfriend who loves this place. We had a nice Sunday night out and enjoyed the live cover duo. The server was very friendly and helpful with my dietary restrictions. The focaccia they brought out was pretty standard as well as the house salad. The calzone I ordered was also pretty good, but not outstanding. I wasn't sure if they used fresh artichokes or not, but everything else seemed really fresh and not the typical overly dough-ish mass you get when you eat calzones elseware. All in all, it was a good experience. Pros: friendly service, nice ambience more

soggy pizza served by a bartender with just as much personality. 8/4/2006

Those of us that have lived in Symrna for 10+ years were anticipating the arrival of the Village Green restaurants so that we wouldn't have to drive to Vinings for a decent meal. Unfortunately, Zucca's hasn't delivered the goods. I've suffered though many a meal at Zucca's because it is in the neighborhood and not far to drive home after a few beers. Thankfully, more restaurants will be opening within the year and Zucca's will be replaced with a decent restaurant. Don't get me wrong, sometimes you can get a good pizza, but it's never consistent. Sometimes it's undercooked, sometimes it blackened. The chicken dishes are boring, run of the mill covered with way too much lemon sauce. The same menu for 4 years!!! The pasta is usually so undercooked (Beyond al dente') that the pasta absorbs any fluid from the sauce and leaves a thick gooey paste. Come on guys...I can even cook better than that! The bar food isn't much better (cheese sticks that taste like stale refrigeration) and that dull/dopey kid with the mop of black hair in his face will take his sweet time serving a draft and with a surly attitude. I wouldn't waste my money on this pizza joint unless you're absolutely starved! more

YUM & Fun! 4/27/2006

Zucca has authentic NY style pizza. I'm from NY and the owners are from Staten Island. Located strategically in Smyrna Village - it's got a great scene and great food. Just ask me, a pregnant woman, what I'm craving and I'll take you to Zucca for some faire & fun. Pros: food, scene Cons: n/a more

great ambience! 2/7/2004

Zucca is a fun place to wine and dine. It is one of Atlanta's best pizzerias. The food is pricey but the beer is cheap. Overall this is s funn place to get together. Pros: taste, ambience, location more
