Wish upon a Star was founded in 1985 by our local Evansville resident, Carl Wallace and is an independent Evansville based charity that grants wishes. Carl is still a very active part of our Wish upon a Star Board of Directors. He is a volunteer for many of our civic organizations(Nut Club and Shrine) and he also a great friend of our troops and veterans in our surounding area. Carl and his wife of 58 years (Virginia) have always been in attendance and worked to keep Wish upon a Star available to all the children in Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana and Kentucky. Wishes granted included everything from trips to Disney World, back yard pools, meeting with celebrities like Michael Jordan and Nascar's Mark Martin. As of this date we have now granted 213 wishes for local area. When an individual or corporation makes a donation to Wish upon a Star, Inc. the money truly goes to make a child smile. Fundraisers by the fundraising board are what provide the administrative funds to operate the organization.
