Windy Ridge Kennels

I am having a really hard time leaving my little one behind while we go to a wedding out of state. I have only been her mama for 4 months and it is really taking everything out of me to leave her behind. The staff at WindyRidge really gave me piece of mind and made me feel good about going on vacation. I wish I had known about them sooner, because by the time I heard about them and saw the reviews, they were fully booked. They are very cautious about your k9 kids safety around the other animals. While I was in their lobby talking to them about things, two clients dropped off their dog and basically gave them a five star rating in the lobby. I have heard nothing but great things about them, next time I go out of town I know to book in advance and book with WindyRidge. more

Our experience was very good at first, very nice family owned business, we expressed our concern with the Kennel Cough and they said that no animals are sick or have been sick. Our dog has never been sick and is extremely healthy, all vaccinations. 2 days after coming home she started to cough, a very hard deep cough, going to the vet today! Kennel staff was not very helpful or sympathetic. Very disappointed! We realize this can be difficult to control but from further research indicates cleanliness is the key. Like the previous post we felt as if they just blew us off and were not concerned about our dog. more

Our dog returned from the kennel with a serious case of kennel cough. She also left bloody tracks in the back seat of our car after her nails were trimmed. The kennel management was significantly unsympathetic to our complaints--blew us off may be a better description. They suggested our dog may have caught the cough elsewhere. Our dog was healthy and had been vaccinated. But the coughing was so severe we worried whether she would get better. Vet bill to help her recover: $300. Guess whether the kennel offered to reimburse us. more

Even though my dog was vaccinated he still picked up kennel cough, has now infected my neighbor's dogs, and I so wish I could go back in time and never have boarded him here. Cons: $250 dollars in vet bills! more

We've been taking our two little Italian Greyhounds here to stay while we vacation since they were just pups - over 2 years ago now. The staff at Windy Ridge is so wonderful! They know our dogs by sight and always put them in the same kennel/run each time they stay. This has really helped our dogs adjust easier. They can stay in one run together - which is great, as they are inseparable. The staff has video cameras to monitor the dogs, they live on site, and are always sensitive to the temperature (fans in the summertime, heaters in the winter). They have a wonderful groomer. Our dogs always come back looking fabulous. They wash all the blankets, dog beds, etc. And even had a loaner for us when I forgot to bring the bed for under the blanket. They have excellent prices, and even throw in a free groom after a five day stay. They are the friendliest people and true dog lovers. We tried it after a co-worker's recommendation - and will never look back. I almost hate posting this...I don't want to give away our secret! Make the drive - very easy Sherwood, Tualatin, Wilsonville & Tigard access. You won't regret it. We won't trust our babies to anyone else! Pros: Wonderful service! more

Our vet recommended Windy Ridge Kennels to us which immediately helped us feel at ease. Due to a family emergency we needed to find a great place for our puppy on very short notice. They were pretty booked, but when we explained our circumstances they were so kind and said they would find a spot for our Jesse. This was also our first experience leaving our pup in someone elses care and they made it very easy for us. It was obvious that our boy would be well taken care of while we were away -- and he was.
