Scary 11/29/2004

Considering this hotel came highly recommended to me, I was majorly disappointed when I arrived. The entire hotel screams ""shabby"" and not ""shabby chic"". It seemed like a tenament. The halls had worn out carpeting and wallpaper that was peeling. Halls and elevators smelled heavily from insectacide. The room was tiny and again shabby. The hardwood floors while shiny and well scrubbed just seem right and somehow made it seem dirty. The room was quite small with barely enough room for one person let alone two. The bathroom, however was nice but too bad the rest of the room wasn't as nice. For thirty dollars more, I found a room for the rest of my stay at a much nicer, larger and safer location. The lovely view of the brick wall I had also didn't help matters I only hope they were or are in the process of refurbishing. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: , Dingy more

Love the W beds 3/30/2004

As with all W Hotels the beds are heavenly, comfortable and the best in the business. The staff are friendly and helpful, once they know your name they remember it and call you by your name. It's close to the Quarter and the convention center so you can avoid the noise at night. If you're looking for a ""traditional"" NOLA experience then you might want to look elsewhere. The W is clean with bright colors and very hip and stylish. If you want a more antique and traditional NOLA experience then don't stay here but if you want a hip and stylish experience then this is the place for you. The two bars are relaxing and a nice place to unwind from the day/night. If you go Zoe's try the grilled endive and roasted roma tomato salad, it's the best I've ever had. Pros: The beds, Friendly staff, Location more

HORRIBLE Service 2/26/2003

We've just returned from Valentine's weekend at the Windsor Court where our package included dinner at the Grill Room. I had always heard good things about the restaurant but had never been there prefering places in the Quarter. We had the absolute worst service we have ever had at an upscale restaurant. In fact, it was probably in the top ten of the worst service we've ever had at any restaurant. We were given menus and the wine list. Ten minutes later someone came by and we placed a wine order but were told the bottle was sold out. Another FIFTEEN minutes passed before a different someone finally came to our table and that was only because I got up and asked the hostess if we were going to be waited on that night. Pros: Elegant Room Cons: Service, Service, Service more

W is for What a Bed 1/5/2003

This hotel is cool and funky. The bed has to be one of the most comfortable ever. The room was cute and ultra-modern. The bar in the lobby is a major gathering place for those who want to see and be seen. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The restaurant was only so-so. All in all I enjoyed my stay. more

SIMPLY THE BEST ! 8/19/2002

The Grill Room is simply the most beautiful and romantic restaurant in New Orleans, if not the country. On a ""cost no object"" basis, the ambience, food and service have no equal. What is more romantic than that !! more

Elegant and Charming 7/26/2002

The Windsor Court is absolutely beautiful. The hotel offered many amenities. The rooms were fully stocked and offered phones, fax machines, hair dryers, and anything else you desire. The turn down service and box of chocolates delivered to your door @ 5:00 was absolutely charming. Pros: roomy, soothing atmosphere, excellent staff Cons: expensive more

Try the pink poodle dessert 6/17/2002

These guys take their food seriously, but with a sense of style and humor. Their pink poodle dessert is a real show-stopper. Best pomme frites since France. Service was very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Lobster Pie was also incredible. Pros: quiet dining room, great pomme frites, romantic Cons: in a hotel more

Stylish and relatively reasonable 5/12/2002

This W location is much cheaper than the one in the French Quarter, and it's just a short walk away. The lobby bar is nice, as are the lounge areas in the lobby. The rooms are full of W-touches, such as red & black décor, leather furniture and a gumball machine. Pros: style more
