Quite an experience! 7/29/2011

I have a great learning experience with Western Truck School. Elmo was our lead instructor. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He takes the time to explain how to maneuver the truck and the purpose of doing so. The other instructors are patient, which is necessary in working with us, and knowledgeable about truck driving. Mel is very patient and makes you learn the manual they gave us. We learned about parallel parking and ally docking. Everyone at Western Truck School has been accessible to us. It was a large class, about seven people, and I personally think it should be smaller. I'm looking forward to my graduation! I first found out about Western Truck School through the internet. I did some research and went to about 20-30 sites. I needed to do my 160 hours of required training and Western Truck School kept popping up. I decided to use them because of the school is local, accredited, and has small classes. The recruiter was very welcoming. It has been quite an experience with Western Truck School! more

Very informative. 7/27/2011

I'm giving Western Truck School a 4 for total experience because I'm trapped in a motel right now, but other than that they're excellent. Orientation the first day was long and likely, but very informative and good, so I can't complain whatsoever. We finished the orientation yesterday, and it went quick and smooth. Now we're just waiting for the trainer, and I hope it all continues to go this well. Thomas Peters more

  • Western Truck School, founded in 1977, offers training programs in heavy-duty tractor and trailer driving. Its training programs cover a combination of highway, city and heavy traffic driving. The school also provides training in backing, safety and emergency procedures. It utilizes a television-based, self-documenting safety training system for heavy truck drivers. The school also provides a training and certification program for forklift operation that is recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Additionally, it offers training programs required to pass the commercial driver's license examination. The school has branches throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. Its corporate office is located in West Sacramento, Calif.
