Editorial review from Citysearch 2/23/2014

I brought my daughter in for braces at the recommendation of my dentist. When I met with his staff to discuss her treatment, I was impressed with Dr. Wadler and his staff. He was very nice and informative. One of my concerns that I discussed with his staff prior to signing an a agreement, was the ability/ ease to make an appointment during after school hours. I was told that there would be no problems with getting an appointment after school. Unfortunately, that has not been the case! I have and continue have difficulty making appointments that work around school hours. I have had to pull my daughter out of school on several occasions to receive treatment. There after school hours are limited! It a very busy office! You feel like you are on an assembly line when your there and no one ever discusses my daughters progress with me. I have to call to find out how she is coming along. On the other hand, my daughter teeth are looking good and it is due to Dr.Wadler's treatment. Would I recommend him? No! Because the aggravation has not been worth it and I strongly feel that I could have received overall better treatment else where. If his office truly would like to provide optimal treatment, they would extend there evening hours and let the parent know how there child is progressing. more

This place is great! I had braces in my 20's and made the mistake of having my permanent retainer removed. Soon, my teeth had shifted and I really didn't like my smile anymore. I was referred to Dr. Wadler by my dentist, Dr. Moon and couldn't be happier. I was a candidate for their 5 step system, which is like Invisilign but for people needing only 5 straightening trays. I am on my second tray and already seeing a big difference. The staff is great-I lost my 1st tray (I know) and Shelly got me in right away and were super nice about it. Barbara is the lady who initially sets you up with your program and she always comes by to say hi.Dr. Wadler is awesome-he actually gives conferences and lectures on Invisilign and seems to really know his stuff. He even came in on his day off to fit me into my first tray! Everything about this place is really top notch-they just have it down to a science and are super efficient and nice. BONUS-they always have fresh chocolate chips cookies. YAY!!!!!!! more

My Teeth are Straight and I have Dr. Wadler to Thank! 2/1/2012

I have been a patient at Bellaire Family Ortho for a year and a half now. They are wonderful! I did invisalign with them and I can not explain how happy I am with the result. Dr. Wadler and staff are extremely professional, nice and happy to see you each visit. It is always easy to get in and out of an appointment. No longs waits to be seen. And they explain everything that is going on with your treatment every time in a completely professional manner. I would recommend them highly! more

Caring, Considerate, Compassionate 10/15/2010

I am not new to the services of orthodontia (having been a patient 40 years ago and having my 2 oldest children undergo treatment 15 years ago.) After all these years, I found myself back in the patient's chair having my bite realigned. The treatment has changed so much and Dr. Wadler and his staff are up-to-date on all the latest techniques. From the moment I walked in the door, I was treated as though I was the only person that mattered. The staff is always pleasant, knows my name, and most importantly, they are TIMELY! I never wait more than 5 to 10 minutes to be seated! My family has become a ""fixture"" around the office as I am not the only member who is a patient - my daughter, son and grandson are all patients! My children enjoy earning ""Wadler Bucks"" and spending them on things like gift cards and small toys. For fun, the office holds contests from time to time and we have been fortunate to win a category in their postcard contest for the past 2 years - awarded an iPod Nano and a Digital Photo Album! The office also offers a convenience service of providing an electronic toothbrush system for sale at cost (a real savings from the retail market.) This office is truly ""patient-centered"" and while a treatment plan is put together at the onset, they are open to changing the plan as treatment progresses to ensure the best results possible. If you are looking for an orthodontist - look no further!! more

Greatest Orhtodontist & staff 7/26/2010

My daughter was treated by Dr. Wadler and his staff, and everythiing from the exam appointment until the treatment was completed was nothing short of excellent. My daughter has a beautil smile as decribed in our first appointment in the office, and we could not be happier with every aspect of the service. Communication with the staff and Doctors was also very good. When we had questions Barbara ,the Treatment Coordinator, always called back to answer them right away. It is always great to hear Aleeta's upbeat, pleasant voice, when we call the office. The Staff is always ready to assist you with anything you need and Dr. Wadler was always very responsive if we had questions that could not be answered by the staff. The fee for Invisalign was very reasonable and Barbara and Stephanie helped do the paperwork for our insurance company. They also worked out a very affordable monthly paymnent plan for us. I highly recommend this office. Pros: quality workmaship, excellent service, great value more

Not even worth 1 star 6/7/2010

Bellaire Orthodontics/Dr. Wadler had decent reviews online, so I thought I would give them a shot. I have been out of braces for several years, but still occasionally wear my retainers at night. The wire to my bottom retainer broke, and I wanted to get a replacement made. \r \r I found it a hassle to make an appointment. They were courteous but Dr. Wadler's hours are pretty limited for someone who has a full-time job. I was told first that I had to come in for a consultation. While Dr. Wadler and his staff were polite, I felt like they weren't really listening to me. They quoted me $375 to replace the bottom retainer, though I had shown Dr. Wadler that my top retainer was also pretty loose and had lost a spring attachment. \r \r When I came in for the actual appointment to get my teeth molded, Dr. Wadler sat down and asked me what we were doing today. I found it off-putting. Is it not his responsibility as the orthodontist to take a minute to read my file and refresh his memory on what services I was coming in for? I told him again that I wanted to replace the bottom retainer, which had a broken a wire, and that my top retainer had lost a spring. He looked at my teeth and told me ""Well see we can't really even properly make your bottom retainer because your top bite is a little off since that spring broke."" Why didn't he bother to make this observation when I had come in for my consultation? Then he off-handedly quoted that the top retainer could be made for $50-$100 more. Except of course when I went to pay for the services, the receptionist told me it was $150 more.\r \r When the dental hygienist was making molds of my teeth, I noticed that she shifted and the mold for my bottom teeth more than once. I was worried this could be an issue since it could compromise the integrity of the mold. Oh, it did.\r \r After getting the molds made, and leaving my pocket $425 (375 + 150) emptier, I was told it would take about a week to have the retainer ready. However, a few days later I got a call asking me to rush to the office that day since the mold for my bottom retainer was unusable to make a mold. I was told if I could come in that day, they could still possibly finish the retainers on the targeted date. \r \r At this point my opinion of the office tanked. I explained that I didn't have time to keep going back and forth, and if possible, I would just like to terminate all services and get my money back since they weren't going to deliver the promised product on time and, in my opinion, exhibited gross incompetence. The receptionist suddenly changed her attitude and told me that I would still be charged $200 for ""records."" Records of what? The receipt and all documentation I received never stated any charge of ""records"" so I was upset that they did not properly issue me a full refund since they had already wasted almost one full workday of my time. Later they followed up saying they would only charge me $150 for ""records"" and implied with their tone that I should be so grateful to freely give them $150 for wasting my time and energy.\r \r When I tried to email and explain how I did not agree with Dr. Wadler's approach to business, he ignored me. He continued to ignore me after repeated calls and emails to his office, and to this day has never bothered to have the decency to respond to my query.\r \r I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone. \r Pros: Kudos to their use of computerized check-in system. Cons: Everything else more
