Dr. McCormack was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Georgia. After finishing his undergraduate studies he attended the Medical College of Georgia where he earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Following this, he completed five years of residency training at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics. First, he spent a year doing a general practice residency in hospital dentistry. The remainder of his residency was spent training formally in oral and maxillofacial surgery..
