I hired Verlanders Construction to do a fairly simply renovation on a 1940s house, that needed some repair, but more renovation. They were 2 weeks late in completion, they NEVER WROTE ANYTHING DOWN, resulting in the backsplash being put up completely WRONG, then they refused to scrape away all the dried thinset when they took down the WRONG tile they put up, WHICH, by the way, THEY FAILED TO REFUND ME THE MONEY I SPENT ON THAT TILE THEY PUT UP!!! (That particular type of tile was ONLY supposed to go over the stove.)then resulting in the tiles being bowed in several places. So, when I brought this to their attention, I was told the WALLS bowed, BUT, when he'd put up the wrong tile, there was NO bow in the tile. They lied about that, along with lying about scratching my brand new bathroom floor up as they'd scraped away the HORRIBLY SLOPPY caulking job between the bottom of the tub and the floor, which was smeared about 2 inches up the side of the tub, which in no time at all will become brown and dirty!! I ended up having to cover up what they did to even fix THAT!! And I did a MUCH better job than they did ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE!!!! WHAT'S WORSE THAN ANYTHING THEY DID WRONG, is they ADMITTEDLY WALKED ON MY BRAND NEW TILE FLOOR (FAUX WOOD, CERAMIC TILE) IN THE UTILITY ROOM, CAUSING LIPS (SUNKEN TILES IN VARIOUS SPOTS) WHICH MAKES CLEANING REDICULOUSLY IMPOSSIBLE, YOU STUB YOUR TOES, PLUS IT DECREASES THE VALUE OF A HOME, WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD PUT IN THE FLOOR!! THEY ALSO FAILED TO FIX A HOLE IN THE CEILING IN THE UTILITY ROOM WHICH WAS DISCUSSED!! The beam I made was put up crooked, I mean, I just could go on and on and on!!!! The BEST THING I CAN SAY ABOUT THESE GUYS, IS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, GO ELSEWHERE TO GET THE WORK YOU NEED DONE!!!! IN FACT, TURN AROUND AND RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!! My battle with them, a year later continues!!!
