The restaurant at the Franklin St. address is another Katrina casualty. It's all boarded up, but there are two restaurants across the street, one serving delicious home-cooked meals at a very inexpensive price. I'm guessing the Vasques Restaurant in Covington is the new location. more

best kept secret 9/16/2002

Locals love Vasquez for great, reasonably priced food. I drive from Metairie to pick up food, or if time permits, sit down and eat in. Lots of great people watching with local flavor. Catfish is some of the best in the city. All food is excellent. Very extensive menu for food. Needs better wine selection, but has the right beer choices. Pros: great food, excellent value, full food menu Cons: no bar, no premium wine, parking at lunch more

It's become a family tradition to eat here every time we come to N.O. Vasquez's meals and po-boys are worthy of any praise that is heaped on them! I've never had a bad meal here and there po-boys are second to none! Pros: Cheap! Cons: Parking needs help!! more
