Contacting the Corporate Office in Ohio 9/28/2010

After a very irritating 2 weeks of trying to get the furniture I paid cash for, I finally had to do some searching to find out how to contact the Corporate Office. It was very hard to find, but here is what I got from the Better Business Bureau: more

awful service, horrible defective furniture 3/5/2010

this company was recommended to me by my boss b/c i just moved into a new apt and needed stuff. i saw the prices and said their cheap, it must be bad furniture. after she convinced me i went and found a nice table set for 199 and a nice green sofa. they delivered it to my place. after they let and assembled the table i inspected it. THEY PUT A HOLE IN MY NEW FINAL SALE COUCH!!!!!!!!!!! since i desperately needed furniture, i let it slide b/c no one could see it unless they examined it. so after having the dining set for less then a month, i went to sit in my fav chair and i heard a CRACK! i thought it was something else and continued to adjust until i was comfy and the CRACK! sound happened again. i got up and saw the chair split and the leg came off. i called vcf and asked to speak directly to a manager. i told her about it and she said a service guy would come. i said i dont want it, but she said a service guy had o see it first. after that a few days later another chairs leg did the same CRACK! and now its pushed inward. after a month and a few days of them blackballing me and the service guy never coming he finally came and said i needed 2 new front legs. i said i dont want new legs i want a refund, he said i had to talk to them, even though they said i had to wait for him. after he left i called them and asked to speak to a manager. the customer service lady was like how can i help? i said are you a manager? she said no. i said i want to talk to a manager. she put me on hold, and transferred me to a friend who i assumed was a manager b/c she said ok. after talking w/ that unhelpful woman, i realized she didnt know what she was talking about and i said your not a manager! i want to speak to a manager i dont want customer services help! after being put on hold for a long time sonia taylor finally picked up. i told her about the furniture and said when will i get my refund. she said its under warranty, well replace it. i said no, i called before the refund and exchange date was over and was told by another manager i had to wait for the service guy and that her store kept black balling me. b/c the 1st time no one called w/ time, but i was given a date. i stayed home from school, no one came and i called them, they said he called out. then they pushed it into march. sonia said its only 200 dollars. i said thats not the point. you sold me defective furniture and dont want to take responsibility for it. i could have hurt myself, (im 6 months pregnant). i asked her do i have to drive the furniture back to the store? she said no, ill review what the service guy wrote and ill call you back today(march 5) i'm still waiting, but the point is...they sell defective shit and dont want to take it back or accept responsibility, instead they want to make things hard and black list you. it you have trouble with them be firm . i was patient w/ them b/c i worked as a sectary before and ppl can be cruel when they dont want to follow procedure.i had nothing to hide and i thought they were good based on a recommendation, but i was fooled. the only they are cheap is b/c american sig probably sends them the recalled furniture to unload on ppl who cant spend a lot of money. more

Frustrated with the Value City Customer support. 8/28/2007

My name is ESWARABABU KOTHAPALLE. I have purchased a reclining sofa at Value City Furniture, 6393 Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN two months ago. I wanted to exchange that sofa as it has not matched with my interior. I have asked the value city representative (his name is ROBERT WOLFE) for exchange after 2 weeeks of purchase. He has agreed for exchange and said to me that a technician will come and inspect the reclining sofa and estimate the value of that sofa. The technician has come twice and taken photos also and reported value city that there are stains on the sofa. But, we never find any stain on the sofa. Then, I have asked the value city representative. He said to me that you call the warranty people for examination of the sofa. If there are no stains, then the next day itself sofa will be exchanged. Otherwise, if there are stains, the warranty people have to identify whether those are removable or non-removable stains and provide warranty support for those stains. Then, the sofa will be exchanged. Either way, I'm going to get a new sofa. But, when I called the warranty people, they have asked for the type of stains. I never find any stains on the sofa and mentioned that warranty people have to examine and provide report to Value city for exchange of sofa. But, Warranty people have declined to provide this type of report and told me that they will visit only when they are stains and also said that the sofa is too young, so Value city itself has to take care of. more
