This was my first time at the Rebel house, open for only a few months. My brother, who is a foodie, had already been here with his wife and called ahead to reserve the outside table for our party of 5. Good idea! The inside is lovely & creative but the loud music prevents any across table conversations.\r
The owners of the successful Charm city Burgers, in Deerfield beach, have created several unique offerings here. With interesting blends of seasonings, and a few main dishes that you can order a half portion which was great as it allowed more tasting options for our group.\r
My crab cake on corn silk appetizer appeared a bit small for the price, after 2 bites though, I was NOT disappointed, the silk was a sumptuous corn puree with a corn salsa topping. Very filling, but I'd also ordered the Heirloom tomato carpaccio salad just in case. Sadly, only two of the five generous slices were ripe, and the sesame oil was way overpowering on the salad.\r
The other diners were pleased with their orders, Steak tartar, Rebel fried rice, braised brisket, and grilled baby bok choy (some complaint about the blue cheese overpowering this one) We were too stuffed to order dessert.\r
They offer unique bar drinks, the wine was good, & the prices fair. Our server was running outside while also serving inside tables but was efficient and friendly.
