I'm grateful to be a part of this community food bank! From the moment you walk in, the volunteers & staff are looking for ways to meet basic needs & provide a warm friendly atmosphere to all in need. When I visit or drop off, I'm always greeted with a smile. This outreach is truly an extension of ""loving your neighbor"". Thank you Twin Lakes Food Bank and all your wonderful volunteers and clients. more

The volunteers at the Twin Lakes Food Bank have smiles on their faces and they are very helpful. I was there for the Thanksgiving Turkey and Meal give away and they are a great group. There are just a few staff members who are paid and they are all part-time employees. I've been a volunteer there for over 20 years and recommend the Food Bank for those in need of its services or for potential volunteers. By-the-way, The Twin Lakes Food Bank is not an organizational part of the Orangevale Food Bank. more

I would like to say that Twin Lakes Food Bank (TLFB) is one of the best run non-profits I have ever had to pleasure to be affliated with. Their goal is to help feed the communities of Folsom, Orangevale, El Dorado Hills & Granite Bay. more

I have had the pleasure of serving on the Twin Lakes Food Bank board of directors for a few years and am always amazed how the community's generosity has matched the increasing level of need. Often, those partaking of the food bank's services are working families whose pay or hours have been cut and they just don't have enough to make it through the month. A shopping bag full of nutritious food goes a long way with them. more

I became suspicious of the Twin Lakes Food Bank because their website did not contain solid, tangible information as to where food is distributed to the needy. The website gave me the impression the website is more about soliciting donations, which made me wonder if it is run by one of those charities that takes in a lot of money / goods, then uses much of what has been donated for ""administration costs"" and puts out very little to the people it claims to be helping. If they are indeed a good charity, they need to publish the means/place for people to receive the help they need on their website. more

Never got the chance to use it.... 12/1/2011

So, the only experience I had with this agency is that I guess I made the unfortunate mistake of calling twice to ask what was required to use this food bank & directions to their Orangevale location. They have an answering machine on which they tell you their days & hours of operation & also the 3 other locations they have, which included Eldorado Hills, Granite Bay & OrangeVale with a cheery God bless (or something to that affect) at the conclusion. Since OrangeVale was much closer than Folsom, I left a msg. requesting they call me back, so we could get the address. I got a call the next day alright, from the rudest woman I've ever had the displeasure of listening to. ""YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND OUT THE ORANGVALE LOCATION BY YOURSELF! WE DON'T HELP WITH THAT KIND OF THING! IF YOU WANT FOOD, YOU HAVE TO COME TO THE FOLSOM FOOD BANK!!"" Click. (why do they tell you they have other locations if they refuse to tell you where there at!?) All in all, worst Food Bank experience I've ever had in 30 yrs. I'll starve before I go there. As it is....i'm just goin hungry. more
