There are better places to take your car 6/8/2011

I went to Factory Direct in 2010 to have a clutch installed. I had the clutch installed and noticed leaking and extra noise coming from my car. I took the car back and they told me that the transfer case was leaking. Didn't understand how that could be, but i told them to fix it. I got the car back and brought it home. The car sat for a while because I had a broken arm and just had a couple surgeries through the summer of 2010. When I moved the car I found the car to be leaking again. I called John and took the car to him. John said he fixed the leak again, also out of the transfer case. When I got the car back I noticed that they had scratched the bumper. They paid to have the bumper repaired. One day I was coming home from my friends and noticed a noise coming from the car when I was coming to a stop. I took the car to where I worked and the mechanic lifted the car. We found a bolt to be missing from the transfer case. He filled the transfer case up and I took it home. I called John again and he told me to bring it there. This time I had to trailer the car. I took the car there, and hte found the transfer case had a huge crack in the transfer case. John told me that he would put the part in for free, I just had to pay for the part. The part was found and said to have been ordered. John went on vacation, and left me in the hands of Eric. This was approx November, a couple weeks went by and I was trying to see if the part had arrived. They had never ordered the part, and said that was my job. That was not the arraignment that we had made. Finally the part came in, and I was able to pick my car up Janurary 14, 2011. But just before the car was done Factory Direct called me to tell me that my battery was dead and that I needed a new one. The battery was under warranty so I asked them to take it out and give it to my mom, so she could return it. My mom took the batter back to the vendor, and found out that it wasn't their battery, it wasn't even the battery from my car. So I went to pick up my car with a new battery that I had bought. And asked them where my battery was, they showed me this old greasy battery, no way that was mine, cause you could eat of my motor. But when I saw the car is when it got really bad. There were scratches all over my hood and fender, there were even small dents. When I got the car home and cleaned it, I found more scratches. I tried multiple times to get a hold of John Massey the owner, but he never returned my calls. Through this whole ordeal I was made out to be problem. They never returned my calls, and made everything out to be my fault. All I wanted was to get my car fixed right the first time. Instead this has led to months and months hassle, and in the long run I am left with a car that is all scratched up and dented because of carelessness. The professionalism and work ethic of factory Direct Transmission leaves much to be desired more

Overcharging rip offs 4/24/2011

I too was taken for a ride. They will not call you with any concerns you have with your car. They overcharge for simple repairs and never perform inexpensive repairs, They are always major overpriced repairs. more

This place is the best! 1/24/2011

If you have to have work done on your transmission, this is the place to go! They had better prices than anywhere else I checked and a great warranty. They patiently explained everything to me and kept me up to speed on the progress of the work. This place is fair, honest and treats you right! more

Be afraid Be very afraid 11/28/2009

Took a vehicle into the store with two easy leaks. I got a quote to fix 2 leaks it was $350 dollars. 10 days and $900 later I got my car back. Do not give any authorization over the phone EVER!!!! three days after I got my car back the transmission still had leaks. 1. I had to stay in touch with them for updates, they are horrible about returning calls. 2. All of the misunderstandings were my fault and I actually have a great mechanical backround, just didn't have time to fix the car. 3. The work was $550 dollars over what I wanted to spend and they couldn't figure out why i wasn't happy with all the extras they gave me. 4. The ""free"" inspection really isn't free you have to pay for mounts if the tranny is taken out and fluids, etc etc you get the picture. 5. I dropped the car off on a Monday was supposed to pick it up Friday, didn't find out until Thursday that they had not touched the vehicle gave them until Saturday didn't get the vehicle until Wednesday of the next week. 6. Between Monday and Thursday attempts to sell me a $1500 upgrade and a $1750 upgrade were made and they apparently didn't even have the tranny torn apart yet. Again I asked for $350 dollars to repair 2 leaks. Good news is I did get alot for $900, bad news is I only wanted $350 dollars worth of repairs. Our Christmas money went into the transmission. If I had them remove the parts they installed I would have been charged labor. Pros: Got alot even thought I didn't want it. Cons: Evrything else more
