Great place to shop 4/12/2006

Trader Joe's has to be one of the greatest "grocery" stores around. Every time the wife and visit this market we find something new that we have to try. All the employees are very curtious, knowledgable and helpful. Oddly enough for a small store the prices are some of the best prices in town, beating the prices of the big chain grocery stores. I reccomend Trader Joe's to anyone and everyone who eats food. ;D more

My favorite place 3/20/2006

Trader Joe's is a great place to shop for groceries. Each time you go, you'll find something new to try, and odds are you'll love it! From the staples you buy each week, to things you've never seen, Trader Joe's has it, and their prices can beat the big grocery chains. Also, Trader Joe's must be a great place to work, as all the employees are always upbeat and helpful, in their hawaiian shirt uniforms. more

Trader Joe's Will Change the Way You Shop for Groceries 11/15/2005

For several years, I've been a tremendous fan of this non-traditional food mart (I don't want to call it a grocery store since that's a little too demeaning for the place). I used to go all the time in Chicago, and knew of people who would make a point of shopping at Trader Joe's when they were in from out of town. Fortunately, the co. is expanding and has several stores in SE Michigan. I frequent the one in Royal Oak on Woordward at least once a week, and am consistently impressed with the outstanding quality of the food, great group of employees (rumor has it they have to apply by decorating a Trader Joe's grocery bag...), and wide selection. It's kind of a cross between Whole Foods, and a more traditional grocery store, with prices you can't beat anywhere. The secret is great buyers and non-name-brand items. If you buy anything there you end up not liking, they'll take it right back, no questions. And, they're always open to ripping something open right there so you can taste it. Very cool business model - well worth the trip and the experience. more

Great place to shop! Fun! 7/27/2005

I hate grocery shopping, but I love going to Trader Joe's. They actually make grocery shopping fun! Trader Joe's specializes in one-of-a-kind food items that have their own "angle," i.e., vegetarian, Kosher, organic or just plain decadent, and all have minimally processed ingredients. Trader Joe's definitely has an alternative feel about it, but this is so much nicer than boring, massive supermarkets. more
