Tomorrow A Better

My wife called A Better Tomorrow to find out about getting help getting off prescription pain pills. They talked me into giving them my VISA credit card number. They said they would have to have $5000 up front. My wife changed her mind about going there and never saw anyone from there nor was she ever admitted. I have been trying for one month as of today to get them to credit the $5000 back to my VISA. They are a RIPOFF! Check with the Southern California Better Business Bureau website and look at all the complaints they have against them. Them decide if they are right for you. Probably NOT! more

I sent my son here for rehab. As long as you have good insurance they will run you thru their system. I suspect most of the other reviews I read here were done by people paid by ABTTC. I have to say I feel they helped my son but are greatly understaffed and treat you by a template policy. You have this issue then you get this treatment. VERY impersonal. They got over $20,000 from my insurance company for the 28-day stay. Plus I paid $2,500 upfront out-of-pocket to get him in the program. My son saw numerous people kicked out the instant their insurance company did not pay. They care more about the money than the person. I guess that is capitalism at work. After raising a ruckus with them about issues my son was having then they will have a counselor call you back and 'talk' to you and they will give you their phone number and say, 'call me anytime'. But when you call them back on that number they never answer or call back. Read this review from a former patient. Our son has struggled with addiction for the past couple of years. It had gotten really bad since he separated from his wife and I was really concerned about him. I have had many drug addiction “episodes” over the course of my life. I’ve tried to cut it out cold turkey; I’ve checked into different rehabs, I feel like I’ve tried it all and nothing has worked. One of my friends mentioned a place in Murrieta, Ca. that was far away from all of the influences that has plagued me over the years. Their extended stay program was something I was looking for. This place is very nice. I’m in my second month and I feel great. The help I have received here is better than any other place I’ve been to. I have a couple more weeks to go and I think all will go well after I am done with the program. For about a year and a half, I was addicted to opiates. I lost my job and even lived on the streets for a few days before begging my parents to take me in. They would only agree if I got help. They called A Better Tomorrow and I went reluctantly. I never knew the help that I needed. It was a relaxed setting. The doctors really understood where I was coming from and they told me about past patients and their struggles. I learn ways to fight the urge to go back to using. I am a compulsive gum chewer now but my parents have no problem with that. I have a new job. Not much but it’s a start. I can’t wait to get my life back in order. more

I run an Alcoholics Anonymous program in southern California. We get people that need more help than just counseling. I recommend some people to get an alcohol detox at A Better Tomorrow before coming to the program. They have the best staff in southern California. When people come back to the AA program, they are clear minded and ready to get help. Every person that gets the detoxification has a really low relapse rate. I recommend it to anyone that is trying to kick the habit on their own but find it too difficult. more

My son needed help. He was hanging with bad people and I didn’t like it. He was acting different and he was not the same as he was before he went to high school. I saw some drugs in his room. He denied that they were his, that it was his friends’. He would come home late. I didn’t know if he was eating. He got so skinny. I called A Better Tomorrow to get help after I saw the news special. They came down for an intervention. My son was angry when he saw the intervention people there. I told him how much he was hurting me and he broke down. He went to the rehab facility for one month. He was on such good behavior. He has since gone back to school and he stopped hanging out with the bad kids he used to. He started playing soccer and his grades are better than they have ever been. I have a problem with alcohol and I know it. I feel like it might get out of hand and I try my best to control it but sometimes when things get down I use it as a security blanket. My mom drank when she got depressed too and never saw anybody for it and I swore to myself that I would never be like her. I called A Better Tomorrow to get help. Surprisingly, when I called, they just talked to me on the phone. The operator understood where I was coming from and helped me find other alternatives to drinking when I am down. Instead of going to alcohol rehab myself, I convinced my mother to go in. She is still there. I talk to her every day. She sounds so energetic and happy now. I can't say enough good things about A Better Tomorrow. I used to drink a lot and it got out of control. After my husband left me I knew something had to be done. I was really messed up on vicodin for years. I tired to get off of them myself many times. Couldn't do it.
