The design is nice and tends to lift your expectations of the place. I ordered a bison burger which I was told was a popular choice. I ordered it medium since bison is dry when cooked well done. It was delivered well done. Appetizers arrived at same time as meal, not before. Buffalo chicken sandwich was ""okay"" according to my wife. Kids enjoyed their mini burgers. When we first arrived we assumed the service was a little slow due to the large lunch crowd. However we arrived close to the end of the lunch rush and after the bulk of the customers disappeared, so did out waitress. Another waitress had to go find her for us so we could get our check and get on our way. On a good note, the fish tacos were wonderful!! Great food and good service. Food seems to be better when served at the bar. Probably due to the fact that the staff at the bar seem to take more of an interest in what they are bringing out from the kitchen. The menu is diverse which is why I can keep going back as often as I do. The burgers, mexican plate as well as the Po Boys are all outstanding. You can't beat the price either. I have tried other places on the Island but have found either the service, the food or both to be subpar to Toms. You get the local treatment the first time through the door which is what left an impression on me. more

This is my first review I have ever written on a place I've eaten.. but this place was sooo good it was worth it to take the time out to write something about it. My family and I were on vacation in South Padre and had tried almost every place in the town to eat, and never walked away completely satisfied, until we ate at Tom & Jerry's. It was THE BEST place we ate while we were there. We even went back 3 more times.. The service was GREAT, the menu was diversified. My husband and I absolutely loved the fajitas! It was hands down a great value for your dollar and they got us in and out very fast and we were a party of 8 every time. You should definately make a stop at Tom & Jerry's if you are ever in South Padre Island, you will not be disappointed!!! Pros: Was very family friendly. Great prices!! Another 'stop' that we have to make each time we visit South Padre. The kids love it, and they have good enough food to satisfy my taste as well. They even went out of their way to put a 'Happy Birthday Nikki' greeting on their marqee for my daughter. Pros: Reasonable prices, good food, great variety more

Okay, you are on the beach in South Padre, why do you want a regular restaurant. Well, after striking out at a few ""restaurants of choice"" you may want something normal that you can rely on. Maybe because of poor performances elsewhere, this seems a lot better than it is, but I dont think so. I visit here everytime I am there and it is always pretty good. To be honest, the food and prices are real good. I am not saying you should make this a must stop place while you are there, but if you like bars, sports bars, and things associated with them, you will like this. more
