Greatest salad bar in East Texas 4/27/2010

I'm not your typical food critic, but I do love to eat. The Potpourri House is, by far, one of my favorite places to eat in all of Tyler. I almost always indulge in the salad bar. But to call Potpourri House's salad bar a salad bar sells it short. This is not your "run of the mill" salad bar. Baked potatoes with all the trimmings and at least two delectable soups of the day make this salad bar a perfect choice for any meal. The pimento cheese and cornbread salad are two of my family's favorites. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.The Potpourri House is a great place for a date night, yet it's also very family friendly. My nine year old son and I almost always choose Potpourri House for our "date" nights! more

The Potpourri House appears to be a charming establishment, but once there the food is below average, over-priced, and overall left something to be desired. more

A combined shop and restaurant. 11/24/2005

I love this place! You walk in and give the receptionist your name, then 'shop' while you are waiting on a table. The shop has candles, beanie babies, lots of wonderful antiques, and clothing. The salad, potato, and soup bar is wonderful during lunch. Many people like the spinach with strawberry dressing (but not my favorite). Their chedder-cheese salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad can be purchased to be taken home. At night, they offer quiet dining with musicians playing in the background. As a woman, you gotta love it! more

unique restaurant 10/30/2005

The ladies from our church had a dinner here. We reserved a room and it was very private. The staff was very friendly. Its a neat place to go if you want to have a nice dinner. We enjoyed the food. We also enjoyed looking at the gift shop. It would be cute to have a little girls tea party here. The atmosphere would fit it perfect. more

Potpourri House is a restaurant and gift shop. They serve a wide variety of sandwiches and salads. They also have some heavier entrees available for the larger appetites. Their specialty is the spinach salad w/a strawberry dressing and slivered almonds. My personal favorite is the House Sandwich which is 2 slices of your choice of breads, I always choose their fresh baked bread, cream cheese, sprouts, bacon, and avocado slices. I highly recommend this stop for ladies looking to do lunch and talk! more

The Potpourri House 8/20/2005

This is one of Tyler's gems. This restaurant/boutique is a favorite among the locals and visitors. They offer a wide variety of unique menu items. The atmosphere is very romantic! This place is usually THE choice for wedding rehearsal dinners, special brunches and get-togethers. They even offer "tea parties" for your daughter's birthday complete with dress-up clothes. They are also well-known for their clothing and gift boutique that is also located within. This is a truly unique place. more

This place is neat. The food's not the best that I have ever tasted but its something different. They have a great little gift shop inside this store that has clothes and knick knacks and more. I'd say the best thing about this place would be the gift shop. The staff are not that friendly and they act like they are just there because they have to be and its a hassle for them to go out of there way to help you. Its not too expensive. To me it wasn't worth the money I paid out to go there. more

Something Special Right Here in Tyler! 8/3/2005

I can't say enough good things about The Potpourri House! I was reminded last Saturday of just how special and unique a place it is when I went there for a bridesmaids luncheon. The food and service were superb and the atmosphere just can't be beat. I had the Chicken Monica which was one of the daily specials and was so pleased with my choice. The house salad is a spinach, strawberry and almond creation with poppy seed dressing and is out of this world! more

    The main dining room holds 300+ people. We have party rooms to suit any event you need a place for. Our small private room holds 16 people or less. Our larger room holds up to 100 people or can be divided into two party rooms holding 50 people each (U-shaped table settings can only seat 30 people).
