Overpriced and poor service too 1/19/2010

I've stayed at Chateu Elan twice while attending events at Road Atlanta which is right down the street. Both times, there was a private party in the main lounge, which meant we had to schlepp it across the parking lot, in the rain to the Irish restaurant with a limited menu. The service at the hotel was poor at best - and the rooms are average. While I didn't come for the wine, it was terrible and the staff seemed to agree. When we sent back a few glasses, they happily replaced them, even mentioning it happens often. Try somewhere else for a better experience. more

Beautiful and Romantic 9/1/2009

My husband and I went for a weekend get away. Everyone was so nice and professional. The place was beautiful. We witness 3 wedding parties. The automsphere was filled with Love. I could not get my husband out of the bed because it was so comfortable. I can not think of a bad thing to say about Chateau Elan. We went to the cooking demo. The food was great. This will be our yearly get away vacation. I just hate that it is 4 hours away. Pros: Great Service more

Escape to Wine Country 6/5/2008

The spa at chateau elan is a very nice escape from the grind in town in Atlanta. I felt like I was on a mini vacation, it felt like I was so far away, but so close to town. I recommend the hot stone massage. more

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! 6/3/2008

My wife and I just returned from Chateau Elan. It was perhaps the worse getaway weekend ever. The hotel is over-rated, over-priced, over-hyped, and over-flowing with its own self-importance. The hotel was so bad that it lead my wife and I fighting rather that relaxing. It was not until we started laughing at how bad the hotel was that we actual enjoyed ourselves. more

Golf Massage --- ohhhh yeah! 6/1/2007

Hey! Pros: spa + golf + great food more

Ok services, but had better--below average for a resort. 9/10/2006

Actually, I was expecting a wonderful morning. To start off with, my friend and I did a yoga class which was absolutely wonderful. Afterwards, we changed our clothes, and then headed for the facial. When we arrived in the waiting room, there were not enough seats to accommodate everyone in the room. Also, it did not seem to be the ""spa"" touch at all. Leather couches with very bright rooms. Like you were sitting in a waiting room at the dr. office. The facial itself was great; however, the room that the young lady had me in was bright due to the sunlight. I have had facials many times, and every time, it is dark and relaxing to the point where you want to go to sleep. This was not. The facial was really nice. Then my friend and I went back to the waiting room for our next service. Not a seat was available, so we stood for about 10 minutes until it started to clear out. It was like a herd of cattle going thru due to the amount of people. I was taken to my pedicure and what a disappointment it was. TOTALLY. The lady I had was more interested in talking to her friends than she was taking care of me. She started later than everyone and finished about 5 minutes before everyone. There were around 7 of us in the room. My friend and I were very disappointed with the service. We both started going to spas when I was dating my husband 3 years ago. We went to a place in Arizona that was lesser in price with amazing service---Touch of Tranquility. I have been to spas in Birmingham that I received facials that were so much more superior to the facial I received there at the Chateau. Furthermore, the pedicure,,,,,well,,,,,my typical ""every"" 3 week pedicure at the local ""no appt needed"" nail shop is better too. In fact, my local pedi is $23 where Chateau's pedi was $60+tip. Yes, ladies, they go ahead and ""make"" you pay for the tip up front. I would have tipped the facial,,,but definitely not the pedi. Pros: yoga class was great. very clean Cons: service was like a herd of cattle more

Great spa to treat yourself to. 8/15/2006

I visited this spa today and it was wonderful! It was the most relaxing massage I have ever had and I will not waste my time anywhere else. Highly recommend - a bit pricier than other spas but well worth it. more

Luxurious Diversion: Chateau Elan 6/15/2006

These guys/ladies are serious about luxury and this place could easily be called Four Seasons' Chateau Elan. Staff was amazing, everyone I came in contact was constantly asking if they could do anything to help. Massage was awesome--really awesome, oh my how awesome. Beautiful therapist after ultimate swedish massage gave me a hot pack to put on my neck & a champagne glass filled with a herbal beverage--awe refreshing--tearfully refreshing. Retired to the sauna, made a trip to the steam room, & ended with a luxury shower that boasted of a 4 tier spraying showerheads that rotated back & forth with a miniture waterfall at the top. Headed off to the Four Season's style restaurant ,Le Clos, which was another grand display of luxurious service & tasteful gourmet food. Pricey yes, but the Roll Royce of food we were served--finished with a trip through a masterfully creative gift shop, brisked throught the rugged Western Style Saloon, and made the effortless decison that we will back soon....A salute to management, staff, & community--it's about time someone took luxury seriously. more

two days of pure harmony..... 2/5/2006

I brought my sister to Chateau Elan Spa for the first time for her birthday and I would just like say ""WOW"". We stayed in the Oriental room for 2 nights. We also had our two days of services.....let me just say how outstanding they were. My sister and I had the Ultimate Hot Stone Massage, Zen Harmony Facial, and the Champagne & Caviar Pedicures..which were ALL to die for. I plan to visit again very soon. I also want to say that the Staff at the Spa is incredible. Pros: Sauna/Steam, being in robe ALL day, Afteroon Tea more

The best birthday ever 1/13/2006

I took my boyfriend for his birthday, he was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the grounds, the staff and overal it was great!!!!. Pros: staff, service, atmosphere more

Worth the trip...depending on the service 5/1/2005

Been there 3 times using a package of some sort. Never an overnight stay. Pedicures are to die for!!! Best ever and my feet actually sparkled! Massage...way too rough. Facial made me feel way too greasy and there was a hard push on the products. Robes were great, sauna and steam room were a key to relaxation and did much more for my skin than the facial. Pros: lounge area, pedicures, staff more

Treasured Getaway 3/6/2005

Visiting Chateau Elan is like a mini vacation. I enjoy arriving early so that I can enjoy all of the amenities. Exercise, swim, whirlpool-are just things that I haven't found anywhere else. To get the best value-I just pick one treatment each day. I enjoy their saunas and showers just by themselves. I belong to 2 health Clubs in Atlanta-and none are as clean and inviting as these. Lunch is a little expensive-but a treat. I always look forward to the teas. You never know what they may have-sometimes they include a pasta-sometimes different scones. But always a tea or coffeee to experience on fine china. I love having the robes-which they have sizes to fit everyone-and lockers. If anyone knows of a spa near Atlanta similar to this-I'd love to hear about it. I have only been to ones similar to Spa Sydell-where you get your massage-then leave. Pros: Resistant Pool, Robes (XXL), Free AfteroonTea Cons: Sometimes crowded, Skill Level Varies more

Pros: Luxurious, Friendly, Plush Cons: Parking more
