Wish there was a no stars option because they don't even deserve one! Where do I begin? Maybe it's by saying that if you're thinking about having an event at this place, learn from my mistake and don't take a chance with allowing them to ruin it the way they ruined my sister-in-law's wedding reception. Let me provide some specific examples and start with the worst, which was the fact that these ""decent"" people actually called the cops and threatened to have the bride and groom arrested over a billing dispute for services they claim were provided which were not covered in the contract. And no, they didn't call the cops while the bride and groom were there, they waited until they left and were on their way home, claiming that they ran out on a bill for extra charges that were left unpaid!!!!! And what were those services? 1) asking the Manager, Tom, to put it a CD and play cocktail hour music, as well as other CD's for the bride & groom's first dance with each other and their respective parents! As Tom said in his pathetic attempt to justify his stance, ""it's like you got a DJ for free."" Our response to Tom was if there was a problem with the request, why didn't you say so when it was made? The answer became clear that it was because they were keeping a running list of all of these little extras to justify hitting the bride & groom up with $1000 bill, not even at the end of the night, but before they even got to cut their cake! There's the ""decency"" of this place shining through again. 2) Asking their wait staff, who we thought were assigned to our event, to help light candles as part of the decor. Real time-consuming manual labor involved here! At the time, there was more wait staff working than there were restaurant guests. I could list five more ridiculous examples but I think you get the point, which is that this place does not put your satisfaction above anything. To think that they would ruin a couple's wedding night, never show any bit of remorse for the misunderstanding and try to handle it professionally, and basically dare me to write this review with a snide comment of ""we don't care about any web sites you want to make a comment on,"" just shows their arrogance and complete lack of regard for making your event the best it can be. As Tom said, ""we're just a restaurant and not a catering hall,"" which is exactly why you need to move one to a more reputable place and give them your money because these guys will take it and figure out how to wring more out of you. The shake-down artists part of this review has to do with the fact that they clearly were watching what we were doing to only be able to throw it in our faces later. As with the CD example earlier, they also provided specific arrival times for guests who arrived earlier than the scheduled start time or for family members who arrived early to decorate. NEVER did they inform us that there was any problem with anything. They just made their notes and kept everything in their back pocket for six hours until the time came for the shake down to begin! Wouldn't the decent thing to do be to apologize for the dispute, try to put the wedding couple at ease, and talk it out rationally? Instead, they came on so strong that other family members had to intercede when it became apparent that there was a problem because of the animated way that the restaurant staff was speaking to the bride and groom. Guess disputing the charges wasn't something they wanted to hear. At the end, the bride and groom returned to the restaurant, under threat of arrest, and the police shortly left because even they saw how ridiculous the restaurant's claims were because they even questioned what the amount the restaurant was looking to charge. Do yourself a favor and don't consider giving this place a penny of your money, unless you could care less about losing it and being left completely unsatisfied.
