First off, I must say Leavenworth is a wonderful town to visit especially during Christmas time when the town is rife with lights and Christmas cheer. However, my experience at the Evergreen Inn was not a favorable one. When I made reservations for a two night stay, I was promised 2 crosscountry skiing passes along with my rental as a Winter Package. However, upon arrival, the front desk informed me that these were not available until January. The website and the receptionist I spoke with earlier failed to mention this detail, providing an immediate disappointment upon arrival. The outside of the motel fits nicely with the themed Leavenworth German town; however, inside, the rooms are drab and worn. The TV was missing its remote and the up and down channel button on the TV set was snapped off. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they were indifferent. I had to use a plastic stirring stick to advance the channels. If this were NYC, this would be a minor inconvenience but in Leavenworth, where the town shuts down around 9PM, a fully functional TV would have been nice. The mattress was warped and the bedding old. Both mornings I woke up with back pains. Also the dingy grey Venetian blinds do not block out the early morning sunlight (I hung up the bed cover to darken the room). The inside furniture reminded me of my spartan college apartment living, functional but old, worn, and split-pea soup unattractive. The beside table was missing its handle. To use, I found I had to insert my key and draw the drawer open. The bathroom was clean but missing soap (shampoo was oddly available though). Overall, driving around town, it appeared there was much better quality of hotels elsewhere, and I'd advise a reader to consider them, unless you like using your Swiss Army Knife. Pros: Attractive outside, cabin-like feel and picturesque view of the mountains Cons: A worn interior with glaring flaws more
