Dr. Kat is OUTSTANDING!! In the world of vet hospitals, The Country Vet is an oasis. 4/5/2008

The Country Vet is a top notch veterinary hospital in a rural, serene setting. When we arrive, my dog acts as though he is going for a romp in the country instead of the the Vet! The doctors and staff at the Country Vet are all extremely professional, intelligent, and kind - whether you are a pet or a person. And for my pets (and my family) the jewel in the crown has always been Dr. Kat.\r \r Dr. Kathleen Danielson (""Dr. Kat"") has been the primary veterinarian to all of our various four-legged children since she arrived at the Country Vet in 2006. She is, hands down, the best Vet that we have ever had. \r \r She is everything that you would want in a Vet - extremely knowledgeable, up to date on the latest veterinary science and technology, and extraordinarily compassionate. But the qualities that really set her apart are her tireless commitment to the welfare her patients, her brillance, the ability to think on her feet to come up with creative, effective solutions which save lives, and her apparent Doolittle-like connection with animals. \r \r She is so kind and caring with our pets and with us - for this we all love her. And she always works so hard to save pets that other Vets would have given up on - for this we all trust her. Dr. Kat's gift seems to be so natural and intuitive that it is easy to understand why my pets are always happy to see her. I think that it's because pets are intuitive too - they know she is the one who can help them, they know that she is their friend. Pros: Dr. Kat is the best Vet we've ever had! Cons: I can't think of anything I don't like about this clinic. more

Amazing Veterinary Practice! 7/16/2006

The Country Vet is hands down the nicest veterinary clinic I have ever been into. The landscaping is beautiful and quite serene - running water everywhere. The office seems like a friend's living room - completely ""non-hospital-like"", clean and free of smells. The entire staff is full of smiles - extremely welcoming and compassionate. It's obvious that each and every person in this clinic loves their job. From my very first phone call to my most recent visit, they continue to amaze me. My dog can't get into the office fast enough - she practically drags me in! (they like to give her treats). If you're looking for a vet's office with competent doctors, compassionate care, top-notch services, and smiling faces, you have to check out The Country Vet! Pros: Excellent customer service, quality & compassionate healthcare more

These are truly the best vets in town. 5/11/2006

They are kind, caring and competent. I can tell you that after my visit, the vet called me to make sure everything was okay with my cat, who is badly injured was doing alright. They really do a great job and have a homeopathic slant to how they treat the whole animal. Pros: Great Vets, Good parking, highly competent staf Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a more

Awesome alternative approach 12/13/2005

Dr Codington did a womderful job using chinese herbs and acupuncture on my 11 years dog who couldn't run anymore due to hip pain. After 3 sessions (in 3 weeks), the dog was running again and he was back to a playing mood. Fantastic ! My Insurance also covers acupuncture sessions so it was great. Pros: knowlegable, personalized care, great facility more

  • The Country Vet began in 1981 as a large and small animal practice based in the home of Dr. Jim Codington and his family. In the late 1980's Jim turned the focus of his practice toward small animal medicine and slowly transitioned his home into the hospital as it stands today.

Aside from a distinctive pastoral setting, our hospital is unique in that we not only utilize the latest technology and equipment as diagnostic tools, we also offer a variety of alternative therapies and holistic approaches to supplement traditional Western medicine. This ensures an environment that is constantly integrative of trends from all sides of the veterinary medicine spectrum.

Dr. Codington has created a practice that emphasizes the importance of meeting the needs of each individual patient. We understand that needs and concerns vary and strive to meet each as they arise.

Our pets are a huge part of our family.
