I haven't been here in awhile, but perhaps this is where I should've gone tonight (after having a dismal experience at another subpar Thai restaurant). I have never had a bad experience here. The food has always been good and I will return soon. :) more

Great food and service. The walls are littered with awards for their food from New Times and Zagat. Tip: don't bother with the specials because you won't understand what their saying (unless you speak Thai) and it seems to go on forever. more

Although the inside may seem too "dated" for some, I absolutely loved my first time dining at this restaurant on Mother's Day with my family! It is Zagat rated as the best thai in the area as well, so that speaks for itself.\r The menu was very authentic, with traditional thai dishes. The appetizers were unbelievably fresh. The grilled calamari was chunks of perfectly tender squid with light grill marks and the most delicious smoky flavor. The mixed vegetable soup was like a magical thai elixir with fresh crisp veggies floating in a crystal clear broth.\r I had the chicken with mixed vegetables for my entree, and it was an enormous portion served piping hot with fresh strips of chicken, white rice, and an authentic thai medley of crisp vegetables in a light flavorful brown sauce. It was absolute heaven! The plates are intricately decorated as well with fresh carrot shavings and fresh wild orchids. I also had a taste of my dad's lamb chops which were super tender, moist, and cooked to perfection as well!\r Just a note that all the dishes served here and even soups can be spiced and altered to your preference. The thai medium is spicy, and I absolutely love super spicy & hot foods and I found the medium spice to be the perfect balance of heat for me. Anything above medium and it will start to get unbearably hot and too spicy even for someone like me.\r This place gets a soaring A+++ in my book! It can be pricey, but just remember that the portions are very large and generous, and its worth paying for a good, fresh, authentic thai dish. The service was perfect as well. more

While the decor was nice and the server attentive, I dislike a Pad Thai so sweet it qualifies as candy. My colleagues love the place, but it is not my cup of Thai iced tea. more

Love, love, love this place! I live in Cleveland and every time I come to visit my family we go here! The fish and seafood dishes are always fresh and the staff is very nice. Have never had a meal that I didn't love!! more

It took me several years to branch out from my Tom Kha soup and Pad Thai routine here. Every single item that my wife and I have tried has been as excellent as possible. The Cowboy Steak is a good choice for a celebratory occasion (it's $38.95 - otherwise you could eat it all the time). The Duck with Panang is phenomenal. I even tried the Mee Krob, a very light and sticky mound of fried noodles, that was consumed before I could figure out what it was. Great stuff. more

Fort Lauderdale's Absolute Best Thai Food Experience 9/21/2010

Goodness! Where to start? How about when you walk in, you're transported into another world...from the gorgeous aquariums to the beautiful Southeast Asian decor and subdued lighting, you won't find a more beautiful and romantic place in Fort Lauderdale. more

Great place for a romantic dinner 7/27/2010

I've been coming to Thai Spice for years now, and I must say, it's always a great experience. The ambiance is nice enough to make it a very romantic, low-lit restaurant to enjoy with your significant other. It's a very small restaurant, but I understand they are planning on expanding it (good move.) Pros: Excellent food, polite servers Cons: Prices more

Very few people can say that have been eating at this place when it was a small grocery store that rented Thai Movies. I can. Thai Spice reminds me of a caterpillar that transformed into a butterfly, just pure beauty. \r \r When I walked in the door the place breathed sexiness and elegance. The decor was very hip and even though I was having lunch it felt like night time in the restaurant. \r \r I had the spring rolls, steamed dumplings, Red Curry Chicken, a Delmonico Steak, and for dessert, the Mango Sorbet. \r \r All the food was excellent. The Red Curry Chicken was spicy hot as I ordered it. The heat was perfect and the coconut curry broth was F'ing delicious. Now for something that threw me for a loop was how good the steak was. What Thai restaurant serves prime beef grilled to perfection like this....I really had to think about it and no other Thai Restaurant came to my mind. The steak was served with a Tiger Sauce which was I think was a mix of soy sauce, fish sauce and some herbs. This sauce had a unique taste and gave the steak a unique favor even though it tasted great without it. The mango sorbet was a perfect ending to a great lunch. Cool, refreshing, and sweet. \r \r Service was excellent. I can see why they recently won a 4 Diamond Award. \r \r I highly recommend this place. It's not cheap folks and it shouldn't be. Great food, service, and ambiance has a price but Thai Spice is well worth it. Remember to tell the owner Michael , Dan sent you and Stay Hungry! more

We have frequented Thai Spice for years, and it has gone through a few phases with the service. It's back to having excellent service now. The food here has always been spectacular. They are the best Thai on the east side of Ft. Laud, and they know it! Unfortunately, as many other places have done, they raised their prices. I couldn't believe when I looked at the menu last night, and the Pad Thai was now $16.95!! Any other Thai restaurant will only charge you $12.95 for Pad Thai. On the plus side, their takeout menu is about $3 cheaper per dish than the eat-in menu. \r \r The portions are very large. Atmosphere is dark, classy, and romantic with fish tanks all around the restaurant. This is the kind of place that you can get dressed up a little bit and fit in very well with the crowd that dines there. Are the prices worth it?? Yes. While other Thai restaurants make thier food sweet just to appeal to the American crowd, Thai spice still sticks to being traditional. This is our go-to place when we have a special occasion, or just have a little more money in the bank than usual. This is where you go to DINE, savor the food, and relax. We will continue going here. If you haven't tried Thai Spice yet, do yourself a favor and go to have a memorable night with friends and family. more

This place is awesome!!! My friends and family love the food, atmosphere, and service. I love variety of fresh fish. Believe it or not their prime steaks are fabulous. Definetly 5 stars in my book, and I have dined around south Florida and the world!!! I cannot get enough of Thai Spice. There are many Thai restaurants around but none are on the same level as Thai Spice. more
