Great, comfortable, delicious. 10/25/2011

Without a decent sit down and take out place in town, Teresas is welcoming and perfect for the town. Serving good Italian food (coming from a Sicilian) it's a great place for a drink, to grab a pizza with friends and family, or have a nice romantic dinner date. With the addition of the martini bar, the long waits aren't so bad because you can check out the ball game, or run into people from town. The takeout menu is just as good, fresh pasta, great desserts and even a function room makes Teresas a wonderful addition to the town of Middleton. Great job, Nick! more

Great Place for Rookies 3/11/2011

Born and raised in the North End of Boston, I know excellent Italian food. Because My friend had a broken leg and needed to use a wheelchair, we opt for a restaurant with parking close to the door, as opposed to a Boston restaurant, so we chose Teresa's. Big mistake, appetizers were tasteless, we had to ask twice for bread and one of my guests ordered Shrimp Scampi, he had to spit out shrimp shells and another guest had bones in his Haddock. The owner walked around like Joe Pesci, talking to his regulars, and bumped into my friend's wheelchair 4 times and never an ""excuse me"". The food is poor quality, and as long as there are suburban Rookies, who actually think they are eating good Italian food, these phony restaurants will stay in business. They are equivalent to Olive Garden food with Joe Tecci prices. They must of really gave the Phantom Gourmet free food for life to have them give this place a high rating, don't waste your money....... more

horrible restaurant, false advertising and over priced 12/18/2010

Terrible restaurant, they claim pastas are freshly made in house but they are not. Bagged and boxed pasta can hardly be called freshly housemade. Sampler app is nothing but pre made frozen foods, steaks are of the cheapest cuts I had the 8 oz filet and it was choice quality at best yet they charged $24, Sylvan St. Grille does the same thing yet their filet is 7 dollars cheaper much more rasonable for the quality of meat. Also staff is very unprofessional, they give you attitude then expect 20% tips, i'm sorry but i work in the food service industry and thats not how it goes. All in all i will never return there and i advice anyone else to do the same it's a waste of time and money !!!! more

Not Worth the wait! 10/9/2010

Heard this placed is packed...must be good, right? NOT After a forty-five minute wait, we were taken to our table. The hostess said we were lucky because usually on a Saturday there's a two hour wait. First thing we noticed is the layout, lot's of wasted space that could be better utilized for more tables and a more spacious dinning area. The menu is varied and ample; downtown Boston prices for Prince of Pizza level food! It started with thinly sliced bread just like Wonder bread to dip in oil - yuk! The marinara sauce was acidy and tasted like it came from a jar...meatballs...tough and too much garlic to the point of burn. The only thing good about the place is that richardson's ice cream is right across the street so you're sure to get something delicious there to kill the heartburn from Teresa's. It was a waste of time and money! more

Rude and Careless 8/8/2010

Have been to this restaurant a few times, usually with a party of 8. Food has been OK. Last weekend I ordered several dinners to be taken out. When I got the order home (a 30 mile roundtrip) I discovered two of the dinners I ordered were missing. I called and was told by an indifferent young woman I could return for the additional dinners. I declined due to the distance. No apology, no offer of any consideration. First I was told I would need to bring the credit card to the restaurant to receive a credit for the missing food for which I had been charged. I protested and was told I would have to speak with the owner. When she returned to the call the woman implied the owner refused to talk with me but she would process the refund. The food we did get was mediocre at best. Seems the attention this restaurant has received from a prominent local TV restaurant show has gone to its head. I'll take my business and my money elsewhere. more

Nice little hidden gem 5/9/2010

I went to Teresa's to celebrate Mother's Day after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet. The food was very good. A bit pricey for a restaurant in Middleton, but nothing outrageous. It had a nice atmosphere, good for families. I probably wouldn't recommend it for a first date if you're looking for a romantic place. It's brighly lit and somewhat noisy. Pros: Food, drink menu Cons: Reservation policy more

Dodge a bullet... 1/30/2010

I wish that we had taken the time to read the reviews here and therefore saved ourselves an hour of our lives and a frustrating experience. My husband and I just moved into Middleton a month ago and my friend who lives in the next town suggested we all go out to eat at Teresa's (shudder). Accordingly, she made a reservation for 7:45p. She and her husband arrived at 7:40, checked in with the very disinterested hostess who told them it would be ""about 10-15 minutes."" We arrived at 7:45 and given that it was Friday night and busy, were very understanding of the aforementioned delay. There were several other parties also waiting in the foyer and the bar area was full. Fifteen minutes became 30 minutes and once again the disinterested hostess stated that there were ""three parties"" that were finishing up. The manager (and I presume, owner) walked by and asked my friend, whom he recognized from prior visits, whether ""they were treating us right"" at which point she informed him of the wait having made a reservation. He shrugged and walked away. By forty-five minutes, every other party AND a party of two who arrived after us had been seated. Addressing the problem to the ""hostess"" yet again, we received a huffy sigh and a ""well, we can't make people leave."" Another co-hostess nodded in mopey assent and the two whispered malignantly at what they perceived to be our unwarranted affront. We openly discussed our other dining options in front of them, presenting an opportunity to make the situation right by offering us a beverage or a free appetizer as an apology for our long wait. Instead we got nothing but belligerent stares. Then we got smart and left, opting to enjoy more reasonably priced pub fare served cheerfully and expeditiously down the street. Now, having read the reviews on the food, I'm relieved that we didn't waste a penny (in addition to our time) at this dump. And apparently, we're not the first people to experience this incomprehensibly obnoxious and flagrantly dismissive treatment. Pretty stupid considering a good experience would have won our repeated business for many years to come. Now Teresa's is dead to me and I will spread the word. Pros: Never got to eat there Cons: Overpriced, Uncaring, Obnoxious more

Have to agree with all other reviews - ""The Worst!!!"" 12/9/2009

My wife and I wanted to try out this restaraunt as a possible caterer for our annual Christmas party. So we went the other night and sat in the lounge side. It was cold and very noisy even though it was not crowded. We started with a Wedge salad that was okay, but had too much dressing. The real dissappointment came when our entrees arrived (before we finishe out salad). I had the Papa Veal and my wife had Veal Eggplant. Cons: Noisey; terrible food and management more

NOT a family restaurant 9/4/2009

Teresa's boasts itself as a family restaurant, but my family found it just the opposite. As a celebration for my grandmother's 87th birthday, we decided to try Teresa's on a Friday afternoon at 430. When we arrived and told them we had a party of 11, they told us that they could not accommodate us. Mind you, they currently had two couples occupying two tables in their ""spacious dining room that accommodates up to 95"" (as stated on their website). After questioning their statement and pointing out the vast room left in the restaurant, the hostess finally called her manager who said the best they could do was put 8 of us at one table and 3 at another (we shouldn't have had to beg for a table). When we asked if they could push some tables together against the wall, she stated that they need to keep them open because they had reservations later (my Uncle saw on the sheet that the three reservations they had for that night weren't until 730, 2 hours after we would have been gone). Needless to say, we left immediately and had a wonderful meal at a restaurant down the street. I later learned on the website that they ""require"" reservations for 6 or more... Really? They want to turn away business when they are essentially empty? Poor policy and poor excuse. In 87 years, my grandparents have never been turned down at a restaurant, and they certainly never will for the rest of their lives, as none of us will waste our time at Teresa's again, an unprofessional and offensive business. Pros: ? Cons: they denied us service more

portions not very large 8/24/2009

three of us went Saturday night I ordered Chicken Picatta - no capers - I don't think I got the right meal - wasn't lemony at all and had artichokes in it. My husband was still hungry after we ate - which never happens in Italian restaurants with him - I felt because the portions weren't as large as other places and the price isn't cheap a salad should definately be offered as part of your dinner - all three of us felt that way. more

outstanding service/food- A great place for a casual date 3/8/2009

have been to this restaurant a few times. Each time the service has been outstanding. Waitresses and staff very friendly. Cannot say enough about the atmosphere. Food is very good and prices reasonable. If you live on the north shore, this is a must try! You will not be dissapointed and neither will your date. Pros: ambiance and service Cons: a little hidden, never knew it was there until it was reccomended more

Great Italian Food with Family Atmosphere 12/1/2008

Great restaurant - home made pasta's and sauces. Excellent pizza! Pros: Great food & service with plenty of parking more

Great atmosphere. The food and service were awesome. We can't wait for the martini bar to open. 8/8/2008

This place is worth the trip. We all enjoyed our meals, and the service was fantastic. The owner Nick came over to our table a couple of times to ask how everything was. You could tell he was genuinely concerned with our dining experience. Our waitress, Alesha, was a doll. She was very responsive to all our requests. As far as the food goes, it's worth the trip. If you like veal, try the ""Veal Papa"", it was great. We would definitely go back. As a matter of fact, they'll see us in 3 weeks for the opening of their Martini Bar. Great job guys! Pros: It's a nice family restaurant. The food and service is great. Cons: The Martini Bar wasn't open yet - lol... more
